How do eyes work?
I don't understand. I changed the eyes of one figure with eyes from another asset. And all the eye textures are appdata\roaming. When I save the scene duf file uncompressed, I can't find any reference any of these files. Why is this?
Is this specific to Cheribut's Anastasia asset? Is it just how MDL eyes work?
I wanted to find out what the eyes asset was and usually you can just go into the surfaces tab and look at the files for the textures. But in this case, the eyes seem to be generated on the fly. But why can't I find the original asset Cherubit/Anastasia/Iray/Eyes/CHB Anastasia Eye 05.duf in the scene DUF file? How does it do this when the scene is reloaded clean?

Layered Images are built on load and saved to the temp folder, which by default is in the AppData folder (you can move it from the first tab of Edit>Prefrences).
Yeah, I spent some time really reading the log file. I had no idea there were so many layered images in use. Still, the figure uses a certain eye asset and that asset somehow gets merged into a file put in the appdata directory. I can't find the reference to the eye asset in the scene DUF. (Not that I'm any good at reading scene dufs, mind you.)
