The disappeared 'Scene Info' tab and (edit) how i didn't know it was now in the Scene Tab

Back when 4.23 first came out I installed it, saw the scene info tab (which I use a LOT) was gone, so reinstalled 4.22 and continued on my way. Yesterday I decided to install 4.23 again, forgetting why I uninstalled it. No scene info tab, uninstalled again. I then wondered if the 4.22 scene info dll would work with 4.23. I copy and paste it out of the Studio folder, reinstall 4.23, go to paste the 4.22 dll into the plugin folder, there is already one in there. Have a look, yes, there it is with a new date on it but it doesn't show up when Studio is opened. Delete it, put in the 4.22 version, VOILA!, we have lift off, scene info shows up. Today I installed 4.24.0.3, same, same. Copied the older dll into the plugin folder and it shows up. Now I know this I will also file a bug report. This fix only works if you have manually downloaded and saved previous Studio version 4.22.

  • If you're not aware of it, the Scene info tab has been integrated into the Scene tab, under the new Info tab.

It works the same, plus gives a drop down to select any item in the scene.

I was not aware of that, so thank you for the info. I went and had a quizz but I'll stick with the scene info tab as it gives the overall scene geometry stats and not just the selected item.

Edit: forgot to put the 2.24 dll back in the plugin folder, doh! And I can now see everything...thank you very much for the info.

You can split the info page into its own pane if you want to - right-click on its tab and select Detach. The detached pane can then be docked like any other. To get rid of it, right-click on the tab>Reattach to Scene

    Cool.

Would be nice if we had the option of mini tabs for everything else.

Off to make a feature request.

Quite a few panes have gained thea bility to split into new, detachable sub-pages - for example the Content Library can now open a container in a new page which can then be detached to a full pane.

I'm probably just missing it, but how do you do that?

It's in the 2025 Alpha, in the Content Library pane, right-click on a Container (folder, category, product) and select Duplicate Page.

Thanks, Richard, it's now back where I'm used to it being :)
