default values on bone rotations non-zero

So I loaded a character from one scene to another. I made a scene subset containing the figure, its clothes, and a few objects associated with it. I merged the subset into the new scene.

Now whenever I ALT-click a bone rotation on the figure. Instead of zeroing the rotation, it sets it too whatever the value was in the other scene. Many of the default values for bones on the figure are set to non-zero values.

How do I zero out the default values?

    Did you ue memorise or Memorise Pose on the figure before saving it?

    I have no idea. It was an older DUF.

    Even if I had. How do I zero out the defaults?
