Daz Studio 4.23 or 4.24 and nVidia driver version

Have the issues between Studio 4.23.XXX.XXX and nVidia drivers 572-576 versions been ironed out, does anyone know? I remember reading threads that some of the 570-series drivers made Studio's Iray rendering fail, but I don't know if that's still an issue, or if we should still be staying on the 566 set of drivers.

Any information would be much appreciated

Well, the day before a new Studio version drops was the perfect time to post this, wasn't it?

That said, the changelog says absolutely nothing about the current minimum driver version -- there's something about that in the earliest 4.23 version, but that's been struck through, and the driver was never mentioned again. So heaven only knows if 4.24 fixes the driver issue, or if it's still stranded on a version of Iray that requires us to use the insecure drivers.

The forum threads are nicely circular -- the new release version thread refers you to the highlights thread (and the changelog) which refers you to the new release thread, and neither of them say all that much that's useful.

The version of Iray has not changed in 4.24 so minimum driver version has not changed either.

Newer versions of Iray can't be integrated in 4.x due to technical changes Nvidia made (well, technically there's one version they could integrate but it has major bugs). That's the reason 4.x can't support 50xx cards

OK, but what IS the minimum/maximum driver version. I think the last I heard, the maximum driver version was 566.36, which also has some security issues, I believe. Anything above that, and I believe that Studio 4.23/24 Iray doesn't render at all.

I have been using driver version 572.60 with DS 4.23 and now DS 4.24, and also DS 2025 Alpha. I am not have Iray rendering problems. Iray preview and Iray render both work.

For the DS 2025 Alpha build:

Daz Studio 6.25.2025.11206 - *Public Build*

    • REQUIRES:
      • NVIDIA Driver 57x.xx (R570) on Windows
      • See NVIDIA Driver Downloads
        • NVIDIA recommends installing Studio Drivers (SD)
      • SSSE3 enabled CPU is a minimum requirement on macOS/x86

There should be corresponding threads for 4.23 and 4.24.

it was rendering still images but animations ramp up VRAM and grind to a halt

but now I am using  572.60 on my Win10 with a 2080Ti and it seems OK

the latest ones will crash my card as they ignore my MSI undervolting settings and my PSU inadequate

that said D|S 2025 won't render but I don't care enough to investigate why

I'm using driver 572.70 and rendering OK in DS 2025, so your issue must be something other than driver version. (I know you don't want to investigate now.)

if I find a need to use 2025 I will, I only installed it because it popped up in DIM so was mildly curious

It doesn't add any functionality other than 5xxx compatibility and Mac Filament AFAIK, neither pertinent to me

These are the main new features so far, though there are other improvements like reducing figure loading time, new viewport draw styles, changes to strand based hair editor...

And the big downside is that many scripts and "all" plugins don't work yet.
