DAZ Studio 2025 - Content Questions -file paths vs database entries

When I installed 2025 Alph, much of my newer content did not show up in the instal.

I noticed that the new build was referencing an old database from a previous instal I had before a HDD drive crashed.

I have since, rebuilt my Daz configuration on a New Drive.

Even though I had updated the file paths in the content manager. DAZ 2025 Alph still was trlling me that subset had no file path.

I noticed that you could chosse to have DAZ search based on file name rather than data base entries, and things atarted showing up.

 

Now for my question....(sorry for the long buildup...

When I search based on file name and location, does the database get updated?

    Searching doesn't chnage the database anyway, just potentially reads from it.

    So, in order to get the database to update, I have to do the update metadata option...or what, If I want files installed in the past year...?

    The database stores only relative paths, it doesn't care where the files are, so I think you may be mis-diagnosing the issue. What is the problem you are trying to solve?
