Help DAZ Studio doesn't show on my programs list. Solved

I spent all night re-installing all my content from scratch. That includes DAZ Studio 4.23 and 201t5.
But they don't show in my list of programs. DIM shows that they were installed.
I found the file with file manager, and got it running from there.

My Daz Studio 4.23 shows up in my list of installed Apps (running Windows 10 btw), and DIM and the PostgreSQL CMS thing, but my Studio 2025 Alpha install isn't showing there. Maybe it's because it's an alpha and isn't installed in the same way?
From the release thread
"Open Install Manager and log in with your Daz account.
Navigate to the “Download Filters” tab on the left
Scroll down to “Release Channel Tags” and confirm that the “Public Build” box is checked off. If it’s not, click to check it off. Then hit “Accept”.
Type “Daz Studio 2025” into the filter field.
Download and install."
Sorry, too early in the morning. Do you have "On Desktop/In the Start Menu", or one of the other options under the Allow "Shortcuts" on the installation tab in your advanced settings?
On my HP (DAZ Studio) computer, I can't see DAZ Studio 4.23 or "2025" on the Start (Programs or Apps) menu.
Frank, what do you mean about "on Desktop?!"
Frank is referring to the "allow shortcuts" option in DIM Installation settings. Which value do you see for that option on your HP computer?
The 2025 alpha is the first software I've installed with DIM so I'm not sure if I'm missing a setting in DIM or not, but it doesn't add anything to the start menu or a shortcut to the desktop.
It's in Program Files so you'll have to head there and make your own shortcuts.
DIM is the only DAZ program that shows up in the Start menu
Carrara, Hexagon and DAZ Studio 4.23 and 2025 are not there.
I've just tried using DIM to uninstall and reinstall the DAZ software.
Then I got an error message stating my C: drive (NVME SSD GB) was defective. I'd seen problems awhile ago.
I already have a 1TB NVME drive that I removed from my home-built computer. I just need to research on how to remove and replace the original NVME drive.
HP's instructions are rather bewildering. i need a nap. Then I need to find all the pieces, etc.
What antivirus do you use, cause it left a link on my desktop?
I have both a shortcut and an entry in start menu, using the "allow shortcuts" option shown in my screenshot, so you might want to check DIM advanced settings.
OK, I'll try to explain again.
While trying to sort out this issue, I received an error message stating that the C: drive (nvme) was defective.
I have another (larger capacity) NVME drive for replacement.
First I need to find the other NVME drive. Unfortunately that involves some massive house cleaning, and lots of sneezes!
The alpha made a shortcut for me, and it shows up when I type "Studio" into the Windows search bar (it's just not showing up under 'installed apps')
It should be added to the Start menu (Windows logo menu) but it won't appear under the uninstall/update list since DIM manages the installation.
Sorry for duplication of this thread.
I replaced the "C" drive (NVME) drive on my HP (DAZ Studio) computer. I was able to use a wonderful utility from HP that created a bootable USB install drive. I replaced the 512GB NVME drive with a 1TB NVME drive.
This was a total software install, including Windows 11 and all my software. DIM and my DAZ software was first on the list.
The process took about 2 days. I installed all my DAZ Studio content onto a new 2TB SSD drive. That alone was a very time consuming process.
In the end, all DAZ apps including "2025" are in the Start menu.
Ah, that makes sense. Cheers :)
