Shaping Pane behavior changed after installing 4.23, even on my 4.22 instances

After installing 4.23 yesterday, behavior that I've come to be very familiar with in my workflow suddenly changed across all version instances of the software.  I'm sure it's a simple setting somewhere, but I do not know which.

1.) If I have the Shaping pane open, morphs no longer show when clicking on a given "family" (Actor, Head, Face etc).  I have to drill all the way down to the lowest level group before any morphs will even show up.

2.) For some reason every time the program is launched every pane defaults to the "Presets" horizontal tab instead of "Editor" like it always has, which is kind of annoying.

How can I restore the previous behaviors?  It's vexing because whatever changed isn't a 4.23 specific thing; as I said my 4.22 instance is borked now too.

EDIT SOLUTIONS:
1.) Show Sub Items somehow got ticked.  No idea how, it's been so many years since I've clicked that I forgot it existed. Must have been a "reset to default" kinda thing despite all my other setings seemingly being intact..

Do you have multiple versions of the same release channel (Public Bulld/General Release) installed? If so then they wil share settings, anything that interferes with saving the session layout (remembering the layout between sessions) will affect all.

Yes, both are Publics using the solution in https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/566516/multiple-daz-version-installs-solved .  This is the first time I've installed a second instance.

Is defaulting to the Presets horizontal tab instead of Editor on the Parameters/Shaping/Posing/Surfaces panes the default behavior in 4.23?  I have not found anything in the settings or prefs for workspace behavior like this.

I suspect soem external factor is interfering with the saving of the session layout as DS closes, adn since the settiongs are shared (unless you give them different instance names) it is affecting both versions. As for what might cause problems, the prime suspect is always security software.
