Beware of the Shadows

Todays theme for West Park Hydrotherapy by Jack Tomalin is "Beware of the Shadows" .  For me, this theme inspires scenes of twilight encounters and dark hallways. Its a really atmospheric sccene, reminds me of some of the hydrotheraputic physical facilities used by the Navy, olympic training facilities and universities.  The notorious Dore Stauch is said to have commited a series of freaky murders during WWI that centered around her activities at a german hydrotherapy clinic.  This early facility at the University of Berlin, seems to fit well with Jack's model.  Shadows are the areas obscured from light.  Its funny that something that IS not material, is the material subject of so many horror and sci-fi productions.  There are many movies and TV sieries based on shadows.   Who recalls the X-Files "Soft Light" episode where a scientist (brilliantly played by Tony Shalhoub) is afraid of his own shadow, as it eliminates anyone who crosses its perimeter.
