Relocating sum DIM files
Hi there - need to clear up space in my C: drive, so am planning to move my DIM files to an external with large capacity. My question is, should I be moving the manifest folder, the CMS folder, or both?

Those don't usually take up a lot of space.
My system -
Manifest filles for 17,677 installed products -- 690 MB.
CMS -- 7.54 GB --- and you'll want the CMS on an SSD for speed.
Are you keeping your DIM downloads? If so, where? (C: drive is not a good place for these)
How big is your C: drive, and what size is your content directory?
Interesting - for some reason, when I loaded in quite a few products, my C Drive capacity shot downwards into the red zone. I only noticed it later, so I'm not too sure where it was before.
Thank you for helping. So, C: Drive overall capacity is 475GB. Manifest files for 1,428 products = 52.4 MB. Yes, I keep the downloads, they weigh in at 249 GB for 2,870 products.
By Content Directory - does that refer to the total number of Daz and 3rd party products installed? Well, I'd say my Daz Connect library is easily well over 2 TB. I keep that on my external G Drive.
Just finished checking, and Daz Connect Library comes in at 2.69 TB.
That is the content installed through Daz Studio, so if you use that method it will add up.
Also, check the location of your Temp folder if you see a sudden drop in available space during a session - Edit>Preferences.
Followed that pathway - couldn't see anything about Temp folders.
Edit>Preferences, not sure what happened to the end of the command. It is about hgalf-way down the dialogue, after the checkbox for the feedback/improvement programme.
Sorry, yes, got it. General tab. And sure enough, the Temps folder is located on the beleagured C: drive.
Why do you think the space is being used by Daz content? I have a 500 GB SSD as my C: drive on a ten year old system (officially, according to Windows 476 GB) - and I have 343 GB free. I have my CMS on this drive (7.55 GB), my temp space for Studio (1.89 GB) - and my Users directory (which could stand cleaning up) is 10.2 GB with 2.2 GB used by Daz - including cruft for Carrara (never used), Hexagon (unused) and several versions of Studio.
The two largest files on the drive are the swap file (262 MB) and the hibernation file (hiberfil.sys - 50 GB)..
I have my Dim downloads (2.75 TB), Maniifest files (690 MB), and Thumbnail files (3.44 GB) on a 4 TB internal SSD (I don't do Daz Connect - this system doesn't have an internet connection) and my Studio executables (7.84 GB) on a different 4 TB internal SSD - and that includes Carrara, Hexagon, the CMS executables, and Studio 4 release and public beta; this drive also has my main Studio library (2.08 TB), and the library I save my work in (18.6 GB). I have my downloade tutorials (purchased and free) on a third drive and the largest studio files (shaders, hdris, and really big product files) on yet another drive.
And I have 6 external USB drives that hold two backups of all these directories.
Whatever is eating the space on your C: drive, it doesn't sound like its Studio and related files.
