How to use use hair across Genesis's?

I know how to use clothing across different Genesis's but how do I do that with hair without increasing the size of the saved scene file? Thank you in advance.

The scene file gets bigger because when you convert the item to a new figure it has to create new asset data - with the original your scenes are just linking to the asset files, but with the converted data they are embedding it in the scene file. The total amount of data stored doesn't chnage, but if you use a converted item in more than one scene it may be worth usign File>Save As>Support Assets>Figure/Prop Asset to create asset files that the scene can link to (and then load that, instead of loading the orignal and converting it, next time you want to use that hair - otherwise you don't gain anything).
Load the hair without fitting, and use the translate and/or scale dials to position it correctly and then parent it to the figures head. Caveat: this likely will not work with dforce hairs.
