I got my new hearing aids today.

You may have heard I lost hearing in my right ear a couple months ago. A blood vessel burst (that is a rare ocurrence). It can't be repaired.

I had my hearing test to confirm the hearing loss, and immediately saw an ear, nose & throat specialist. I got the new hearing aids two weeks later.

I'm celebrating with beer and pizza. What a way to celebrate April Fool's Day, with some real good news.

But can you hear with both ears now?

I can still only hear from my left ear. The right ear's hearing was destroyed when the blood vessel burst.

I have a microphone in the right ear. It passes sound over to the left ear.

I really hope they help you out. My dad's hearing is bad, and the VA ended up getting him hearing aids. I've lost some of mine so due to life, but I've only lost about 10-15%. Between hunting since I was 8, constantly shooting for the police department, working in a factory, and the military working next to jets.

you may also find like me, it's handy to discretely poke a finger in just your right ear in noisy environments, looks less silly than both ears
