What kind of tattoos are these?

What kind of tattoos are these?

Nowhere in the description is the type mentioned, are they layers, LIE or decals...?

Most importantly, will they work on other Gen 9 skin shaders?

It's not a clear answer, but it does make me suspect that they're baked into the skin. Strangely, I don't even see a preset to apply the tattoos.

They are kind of baked into the skin as they are loaded directly as LIE's automatically when you add the texture.  Since they are just textures, you could easily just copy the textures, create LIE's out of them, save them again in a separate texture folder:

    • Open the LIE: Load the figure or object you want to edit with the LIE.
    • Make your edits: Use the LIE tools to create and modify your layered image, such as adding color layers, masks, and adjusting blend modes.
    • Save the LIE Preset:
      • Go to File > Save As > Layered Image(s) Preset. Name your preset and choose a location to save it.
      • Daz Studio will save the layers as a .duf file, which you can then apply to other figures or objects.

Thus you could apply them to other textures....

Is that how other FPD characters work? I don't have much use for their style of characters, but I'm always on the lookout for more non-baked tattoo options.

They're just tattooed skin texture maps rather than layered maps. Technially, the only way to separate the tattoos is to use an image editor... but that'll be pretty difficult ~~
