Greetings,

I can't figure out this one: i use UltraScenery2 at home without problems, and it's great!

Now, in another PC, i get UltraScenery2 basically working, but with the UI texts missing (see the attached image).

I've checked every file, tried to reinstall it, nothing works whatsoever. Can someone help me?

A huge Thank You in advance!

EDIT:

the Log file does not show any error, but some warnings like:

2025-03-25 16:06:57.299 [WARNING] :: \src\sdksource\general\dzcontentmgr.cpp(3992): Empty relativePath passed to DzContentMgr::getAbsolutePath()

2025-03-25 16:06:57.299 [WARNING] :: QImage::scaled: Image is a null image

    Possibly the colour settings? Window>Style>Select Style and see if one of the others is legible, if not it may be soemthing else but if that does help you could go back to the one you want and try adjusting the colours individually in Window>Style>Customise Style.

  • Thank You Richard, but it is not the colour, it's one of the first things i've tried ;-)

  • I've also tried to switch viewport layouts/styles but nothing... I did not yet tried to reinstall DAZ, but i would REALLY like not having to XD

    Firstly, are there any other panels in Daz Studio that have "invisible text" - I assume not since you most likely would have mentioned it but if so then that would be a theme/style reset issue most likely.

    Secondly have you ever at any point in time installed UltraScenery via Daz Connect (installing within Daz Studio application / Smart Content) - if so that will not work and you must uninstall it completely via Daz Cnnect and then re-install it via DIM. Reinstalling via DIM without uninstalling the Daz Connect version first will achieve nothing as the broken version will take priority.

    If the above two are not relevant then perhaps you have a missing UI font issue?

  • Thank You @SofaCitizen (love the nickname by the way XD), but i have installed it manually, could this be the culprit?

    Now that you make me think about that, in the past few days i have uninstalled a couple of Windows fonts! Knowing what fonts does UltraScenery2 use would be very useful...

  • I don't know if it's relevant, but UltraSceneryXT (installed manually too) works without any problems. I'm gonna find a way to find which fonts were recently uninstalled

    Someone else had a similar problem a few weeks ago and solved it by uninstalling and reinstalling.

    If you installed manually, maybe you missed something? DIM is generally best for USC stuff.

  • Thank You @MelanieL! i'll try to reinstall it with DIM, even if i made the same manual installation on the other PC and it doesn't show this problem smiley

  • nope, reinstalled through DIM, still missing... i'm gonna try with reinstalling some fonts

    OK, sorry it didn't help. Good luck with your fonts!

  • I've solved it!

    Thank You all for the kind advices, but it actually was the file "UltraScenery2.dsx", inside the "Docs" folder, that for some unknown reason was missing/being deleted/i don't know.

    It's the first time that i see a plugin getting its texts from a docs folder's .dsx file surprise

    Glad you found the problem. (Actually I believe UltrasceneryXT uses the same method of .dsx file in the docs folder.)

    I have stumbled acrss this issue too - how did you resolve it - from where did you get the UltraScenery.dsx file to put it in it's proper place?

    If you have installed with DIM, you can see where it is by using the "Show File list" button (with Show Details checked), or right-click - Show Installed files, on the "UltraScenery2 - Realistic Landscape System Win 64 [or whichever version you are using]" product. You can click on the blue hyper-link in the pop-up to go to the file in question.

    It was related, perhaps, to the fact that teh installation went a 'bit strange' (which has happened to a few plugins over the years), and I ended up manually deleting, uniinstalling and then reinstalling, and it now is back with working text!
