sharing custom model with a friend

Hi all,
Im sharing my own custom models with a friend to combine efforts and skills.
So everything that's shared is just basic G8 that come with the daz install with my own modified morphs from Blender and Zbrush, clothing made in Marvelous Designer, and my own textures.
But we are constantly running into issues where stuff needs to be found / located when sending over the materials and Duf file.
Sometimes I see that Daz also saves the Drive letter and my friend has its stuff installed on a different drive, so that is already an issue itself.
How can we overcome this issue?
Thanks in advance.

Basically, you can share anything that is entirely your own work. Your friend will need their own copy of G8 starter essentials, but you can share your own morphs, clothing and textures. The drive letter shouldn't matter, but the folder structure does. For example, if you save a texture preset that references runtime/textures/yourname/productname, then those texture files must be in the same relative location on your friend's computer. One thing you can do to make things a lot easier on yourself is to create a new runtime in DS and save all your original products there, because that will make it a lot easier to gather up your files and maintain folder structure.
are you trying to share a scene file or are you saving the morphs as morphs, the clothing as clohting and the textures as materials presets?
Ifd DS stoes the path starting with the drive letter, the absolute path, then the file (usually a texture) was not applied from within a content directory. In order for DS to store a relative path (like /Runtime/Textures/OutProject/makeupOverlay.jpg) the path up to the beginning (the folder containing the Runtime folder) must be a Daz Studio format content directory. If you have one content directory nested inside another (easy to do if you mix manual and DIM installs, since the manual installs can end up placing a "Content" or "My Library" folder inside the actual content directroy) then the relative path may be saved with the extra folder(s) (e.g. /My Library/Runtime/Textures/OutProject/makeupOverlay.jpg) which will fail for others.
Thanks Richard that actualy made a lot of sense! More of a "DOOOOOOOOOOH" moment for me LOL
Tested that out and issue solved ;)
