Polish or Polish?

I'm sure most of you are familiar w/ the Published Artist "Polish," and have read that name, but I've been wondering: how's it pronounced/which meaning?

Is it Polish like "I will polish that stone until it shines," or Polish like "a person or thing from Poland"...?  Anyone know?  It's been bothering me for YEARS, now, lol.

    I pronounce it as in the shine.  Because it also serves as way to market the high quality of their products.  They could be Polish though, I have no idea.

    I was reading it mentally as POH-luhsh as in "from or related to Poland".

    I've been wondering the same for quite some time. I'd say I generally pronounce it as "to bring to a shine", but have no real reason for doing so.

    I've wondered this too, but I've always assumed it was 'pole-ish' as in "from Poland".

    What if the PA's name is Paul and he could say his renders are Paul-ish?  A Polish PA who polishes his renders so they're distinctly Paul-ish.  Yeah.  Yeah, that works.

    Same here, except, I never wondered, I just always assumed it was POLE-ISH and now me saying it any other way would seem wrong, somehow. Maybe one day the PA will come and weigh in. Until then, we each get to say whatever we want secure in KNOWING we are the ones saying it correctly. And who knows, Polish might end up saying, "Hey, as long as you are buying my stuff you can say it however you like!" HA HA

    I assume it's Polish like the shine, but I pronounce it Polish like from Poland. So, both! :)

    I can confidently say that I say it different ways each time I read it.  Kinda depends on where my head is, I guess.  I hope someday Polish comes across this thread and puts the matter to rest!  ^_^;

    I seem to remember this discussion popping up now and again, with no one ever being able to solve the riddle. Myself, I'm firmly in the Pole-ish camp, pronounciation-wise, but it feels like 'polish to a shine'. As if that makes any sense ...

    Montreal is correct. Also known as Misuo WU (CEO of Misoo Voxel) and also does a lot of work for gaming (Pirate Nation).
