Side scrolling game style camera - going nuts
Hey all - I'm trying to render an environment in a "long and thin" strip (the final image is something like 8192x1080px) which should serve as a scrolling background for a game stage.
The issue I'm having is that if I set the camera, say, dead centre of the scene, the perspective (obviously) changes the farther away from the centre you get either side. That is undesirable, since the camera in-game follows the player. I guess that what I need is some form of isometric view; I've tried disabling the camera perspective, but it makes the whole scene flat as a pancake without any hint of depth.
I guess I could take multiple pictures moving the camera just a little bit each time and stitch them in Photoshop or maybe some AI-aided program...but I'd prefer to have one single take, if possible.
Any ideas? Anyone managed to do something like this?

I would think you might want a series of flat images, for fore/mid/background, with transparency so you can see through the gaps (export as PNG or Tiff). Then you can move them at different speeds, to give a parallax effect.
