Saving additional shape presets from 'memorised' shape?
I would like to save shape presets from a character and want to use 'check only modified'. I thought if I used 'memorise shape' beforehand, if I were to then make the nose bigger and save, and 'check only modified', it would just find the nose, but no. There's still a lot of 'ghost morphs' being selected, so I have to go in and uncheck a lot of stuff before saving.
I don't want to create morphs from the base model as it's harder to see the desired results.
Is there a way to bake, freeze or set the current model shape as default and then apply further morphs so that can be saved out easier?

Memorize Figure Shape has nothing to do with "Check Modified"... as long as a morph property has a non-zero Value, it's Modified.
As for your requirements, the better way is to create a full head morph and a full body morph for your character 1st of all. Then you can further fine tune the shape with PHMs and PBMs...
