Dforce weight node modifier doesn't paint

I haven't tried this in a while (years actually) so maybe forgetting something...

All the bits are added and think I'm in the right place but paint brush won't paint - what am I missing?

    Does the plane actually have divisions? Weights go to the vertices.

    Even if the plane is with 1 division, paint brush should work on it.... It seems that the primitive plane is already fully weighted (that's the default behavior when you add weight map to the dForce weight node..),  you can increase Sensitivity, hold Alt key to paint, see if you can remove the weight. Be noted, you have to drag to paint for some time... (ss1)

    Edit: Or select all polygons, fill zero weight firstly, than paint the weight as usual, see if it works. (ss2)

    I'd guesed it was the removal element I needed but was struggling on that - ALT key solves - thanks for that!
