Blender Bridge: Send to Blender Decimated character

Hi all,

I purchased the Decimator plugin to create a low poly version of a Genesis figure. I've accomplished this to my satisfaction, and created a LOD which I can switch to in the "Resolution Level" dropdown in the character's parameters. However, when I use Blender Bridge to "Send to Blender", I see the character switch to its base resolution before being exported, and when I import it in Blender, I see the original version, not the decimated one. I can't see any options in the Blender Bridge dialog to choose which LOD to export, but I hoped the one I currently had selected would be used.

Can anyone help at all please?

Thanks so much

Nah... the decimated figure can neither be saved as any DSON format nor exported via any Daz to xxx bridges. It can be only exported directly to other format, e.g. FBX, OBJ, DAE... etc.

It is the limitation of this plugin ~~

I wonder, could the diffeomorphic do this export?

Unfortunately, Diffeo cannot make it either because Diffeo also relies on DSON foramt scene file (DUF) to export DBZ file ...

LOD data in Resolution Level property as well as the decimated mesh per se are just temporarily stacked in RAM rather than DSON format file.

  • Okay, thanks for your help guys, that's a real shame. At least I can export an FBX with my decimated morphs in place, which is pretty sweet. Now if only the Decimator plugin would allow for symmetry!
