"Particle Illusion is a 3D particle generator that can create stars and other particle effects. It's available as a standalone application or as a plugin for video editing software like After Effects [& Vegas].
Creating stars with Particle Illusion:

I use the plugin for Vegas, but the standalone version is free from Boris. Amazing software.
you can use StarBright for Carrara
Digital Carvers Guild Open Source Beta
or you could get dartenbecks starry night for Carrara
dartanbeck.com - Starry Sky for Carrara
Thanks
Also, i don't feel like Carrara's moon looks very bright. It's a lot brighter looking at it in real life and photos, but it looks kinda faded in Carrara. any way to fix that without postwork?
also Dave Savage Moon for Bryce ( Free ) + Thanx
get the moon texture from NASA I think it is and apply it to a sphere
then make it as bright and big or small as you like
link below at NASA
NASA SVS | CGI Moon Kit
starbright
and a sphere for the moon textured
Thanks for the link !!!
nice moon //
i just used a lens flare
looks good //
You do whole universes too? Could come in handy.
there's a link to the Milkyway Galaxy somewhere on this forum, cannot be bothered looking
a combination of milkyway wendyluvscatz carrara site:daz3d.com in Google would narrow it diwn
this one?
vrml wrl NASA Milkyway model - Daz 3D Forums
looks like it's no longer available
I may look into uploading my copy somewhere later
need to find first and see how big it is
OK here it is
ah a universe in a zip file, thanks Wendy :)
just our galaxy, will need lots more for a universe and not all spiral
but one can find an entire universe in a mote of dust ... or so I read, or maybe just a planet
_ is it one of these Parallel Ones ?? + Thanx
Here is my method:
1.-Make a simple sphere, cut it in half. Name it "SkyDome"
2.-Make a simple circular plane, (octagon or hexagon should be fine) Name it "Star"
3.-Set Skydome to invisible.
4.-Go to material room and set color black and glow as pale blue, almost white.
5.-Then call a surface replicator, parent "Star" to the surface replicator.
6.-Choose surface replicator, go to model room and choose SkyDome as source object. Set the number of objects as much as you want, and random scale as 200%
7.-Finally, go to assemble room, go to scene, filters and add Glare. Set it as you want.
Get fun.
The good thing of this method is that you can set everything, the color, the number and the size of stars. You can use some cloud png's in a second skydome to make a cloudy starry sky.
Interesting approach, Namtar3D. Thank you :-)
Great idea, @Namtar3D.
I shall put this on my to do list.... now.... where did I put that list....
In a STEZZAFOLDER, of course! ;-)
a simple moon scene
ambient set to zero
one distant light used
and also stars created using the info above by @namtar3d
Cool !!!
Great job
