Greebles

I know there's a couple of greeble sets bouncing around (one is Stonemason's), but most of the greebles tend to be for cityscapes and such. Are there any good ones out there for other things like bolts, buckles, belts, sci-fi panels, etc.? I have one that has bullet casings and pipes and has been really useful, and I know that you can kitbash from different sets to pull some of the stuff out, but I just wondered if any one knows of any generic geeble sets out there in 3D-land.

Lots of odds and ends pieces in this one: http://www.daz3d.com/nurnies-greebles-parts-and-pieces
And not exactly greebles but you can make some odds and ends with this set: http://www.daz3d.com/everyday-morphing-primitives
Some free larger greebles:

Thanks--that's the kind of products I was looking for. I love those all purpose sets that are flexible. Appreciate you pointing me in the right direction. If anyone else knows of any others, please chime in.
You might want to check out mCasual's site:

He has a few bits and pieces there, some individually and others in collections. Here are a few just to whet your appetite:

Look on the lefthand side of the Home page and scroll down to and click on "Part 6". Then scroll down the page to Mechanical Props.
In addition to the props, he also has scripts for DAZ Studio that were used to create the props out of primitives right in DAZ Studio! Worth checking out as well. He also has threads here on the forums where he describes most of this stuff, if you're interested.
You can use displacement too
this is in Blender but same principles apply
http://www.blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?273033-Sculpting-with-UVs-and-displacements
If there is a way to use displacement in DAZ Studio to create new or modified objects, I haven't come across it yet. You can certainly save a preset, but I don't believe that saving a prop that has been deformed using displacement can be saved as a new prop with the displaced mesh intact - it will merely result in a copy of the original mesh. If I'm mistaken, I'd love to learn how to do it.
Edit: Ah, I read the thread and they aren't creating new topology, they're just creating displacement maps to deform the mesh once loaded in Blender. That's do-able in Studio.
I can in carrara but no not AFAIK in DS
this is a DS 3DL render of a sphere with iray you need to add subdiv in shader
some you can use I did using dystopia city blocks rendered as a texture, are big 8K x8K

I don't know the first item you mentioned, but maclean's morphing primitives are great! I don't know how many different things I made with them. One of my most cherished tools.
Great resources!
There is an excellent site called BadKing (I would put a link, but I don't think I'm supposed to) that has a ton of mesh brushes for ZBrush (a mesh brush is basically a sculpted object that you use as a "brush" in ZBrush that creates an pre-made object in your sculpt). They have hundreds of free greeble brush sets in there (anything from chains and belt buckles to sci-fi to medieval items). I have downloaded a lot of them, created the greeble in ZBrush, isolated it and then exported it as an OBJ and then imported it into DAZ Studio.
I use GoZ to send stuff back and forth from Studio to ZBrush and back all the time, but in order to retain an object's Studio capabilities I can't merge greebles to it in ZBrush and then send it back into Studio (well, I can but it comes over as a solid object). However, if I bring the greeble object into Studio as an obj first and place it on a surface (like a piece of robot armor, for example) using D-formers, then I can use GoZ as usual.
I have isolated a ton of ZBrush greebles that way (as OBJs) for use in Studio and would be willing to share them, but since they are not my creation I do not think I'm allowed to (and I don't wan to be accused of any sort of piracy). I'll ask the moderator at BadKing about the terms of use of the freebie ZB brushes, but I think the answer will understandably be no.
I use displacement maps a lot for stuff...
This image uses nothing but primitives (torus, sphere, cube) and texture maps.

DzFire's Nurnies Greebles Parts and Pieces is a great set. The drone below is almost entirely his greebles.
