Product Readme index is blank!
in The Commons
When I go to the Documantation Centre and Click on the Product Readme's I get a page with the banner at the top but nothing under it. Refreshing the page doesn't do anytihng. I'm getting this on two different computers and in IE and Chrome. Is anyone else seeing this?

Yep, same here. I've also noticed that when you go directly to a readme page (like from DIM or by google searching for it) that it takes forever to load. It's been like this for at least a few days, maybe longer, but it had been a while since I'd been to the readme section.
I have reported that.
The blank pages happen every now and then. I've had the "taking forever to load" problem (also on all readme index pages) ever since the readmes were taken out of new product installers. I've got so fed up I just ignore the whole thing now, and only go to the readme section when I absolutely have to.
The 'Product Index' page isn't responding, for some reason.
Sometimes it works ... slow as molasses.
And I am trying to download the pdf for the Genesis 3 Starter Essentials since the last update beginning of January ... always getting timed out.

....once upon a time we got the readme's as texfiles included in the download/zip. I wish we could have that again.Much simpler and more convenient.
Well - here at Daz they were always html - but still, yes, they were included in the zip/exe.
We were told that the new system is to facilitate updates to the readmes.
Well, I have a lot of my stuff downloaded through DIM now, and I do get update notifications - but the Readmes are not updated to show what was changed.
I tried to make a thread about this earlier today and no one read it, but yeah, it's not blank, just not loading. It took me about 20 minutes of refreshes to get one to load today. It's only the Product Index part of the docs section and it's been like that for ages.
It came back again for a while but was very slow, now it's just giving me CloudFlare messages saying it's offline.
I wish Daz would go back to putting the readmes in the Zip files. At least that worked.
Hmm. Another suggestion for the next version, offline readme content through Connect. Make it optional, but a script that made an offline readme archive for your product library would be really handy. Perhaps with update option on each item and it being clearly specified that offline documents may be out of date but updating is up to the user. That way they don't need to maintain another update list, and it can use the offline docs when the online ones are down.
It wouldn't really help this problem. I always save the readmes as PDFs when I install new stuff, the problem is that I can't get to them in the first place. Unless they put the readmes in with the installers then any script to get them from the server and archive them would have the same problem.
This seems to be sympomatic of Daz's approach of get the stuff out and don't bother about documentation. They only seem to put any effort into parts of the site that sell stuff. While the readmes have been going slow and stopping completly the shop still goes on without a hitch.
