Is there an easy way to reduce texture sizes for rendering in IRay
in The Commons
I am using Iray to render a scene with 4 Genesis 2 figures and it seems I do not have enough vram). Is there a way besides manually lowering the texture resolution?

Try messing with those numbers.. might help.
The problem with Iray doing it...it will do ALL the image files.
So if you have one figure that is the main focus and would like a bit more detail, setting Iray to let's say 2048 will shrink those, too. And it will also affect some control maps.
But if you don't want to do them individually and reassign them, it is probably the quickest way of doing it. The other way is to use something like ImageMagik (http://www.imagemagick.org/script/index.php) to do a wholesale resize operation (make a copy of the textures first...).
If you have Photoshop you can set up a Batch rezise script. It is really easy to do and there are plenty of tutorials out there to help.
Texture Atlas could potentially also be used to do a quick mass image resolution resize, although of course it is also combining them, which you may or may not want depending on what you are doing.
For background stuff, that would probably be fine...
