Please get rid of the zoom on the Home Page.

...who's idea was it to add an zoom feature to the background images on the home page? It is really annoying and worse, if like me, you don't have a fast connection as then it does so in a very "jittery" fashion which is really bothersome to the eyes.
Bad enough there's that fast "rewind" scroll for the top banner on on the Store page which is disorienting if not almost nauseating.

Agreed.
If you have AdBlock, you can disable just that slideshow part of the page. Not the best solution, but it should work.
...how?
Have to agree with the OP - I really like the images on the home page and I think it's a great idea to showcase what you can do with DS, but the zoom is really annoying and offputting. Please go back to static images....
Make sure you have adblock installed in your browser ( https://getadblock.com ), then with it active, visit www.daz3d.com. Rightclick on the image you want to hide:

Choose Adblock -> Block this ad
In the next window:
Move the slider to the right a little, until you see the text class=slideshow_container" appear. At this time, the image should be gone, but it is not saved yet, just a preview. Click on "Looks good".
Finally, confirm everything:
Click on "Block it!"
From now on, the main page should load without the main slideshow. If you want to temporarily see it anyway, just click on the adblock icon in the browser, and pause it. This will load everything on the page.
It's all part of the conspiracy to force people to buy better computers!
Have you made room in your basement for the Cray you'll need to view the future advertisements?
Isn´t the Cray a bit outdated? This was a supercomputer back in the 90s if I remember correctly.
Really? You mean my dial modem won't work either?
But, but... they're still in business. http://www.cray.com/
I just like the hotel seating they provide. Fancys up my basement real good.
Not just annoying and offputting, does anyone else see their browser window suddenly growing a sideways scrollbar that stretches and shrinks? However this drunken wandering setup is done, it's altering the width of the store page — as if the "invisible" part of the image that wanders off to the side is still counted as part of the page width.
I agree, this is going well beyond even bells, whistles and gongs. I think we're in the realm of Rio fiesta feather outfits now...
I completely bypass the front page.
No scroll bar for me
Another "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should", situation like all of those full page FLASH home pages on a lot of European websites for high-end goods. Seemed to be a fad a few years ago. I flat out refused to make them even if customers wanted them.
...hmm I don't get the same selections on my system.
I can deal with the side scrolling on the store page just by paging down to where it isn't visible.
It's the home page that is the real bother. I like seeing the images (especially as they seem to be rotating to new sets more frequently) but the zoom is just way too bothersome and distracting and again, on a slow conection, difficult to look at.
ETA: With ABP set to "on" here on the site, I get a blank page for the forum contents.
I didn't even notice until I read this post. I guess it's more of a pan to me. I don't really stay very long on that page. But if you have a slow connection, I could see how it could be bothersome.
Both features are most likely from someone at DAZ, ?advertising/marketing?, requesting them to the folks who develope their website.
For myself the main page zoom/pan gives some of the images a *creepy* feeling only if left open for quite awhile and later come back upon it. Ony some images have this effect. I'd much prefer static images. I've gotten into the habit of quickly opening Forums to get it out of the way. I can go to Shop or anywhere else from there and never open the main page again.
I kinda like the manual "fast rewind" to beginning or end... too bad it's not available from anywhere in the list of images for different sales. I do agree with you on the auto fast rewind which is quite useless... it would be much better if it just scrolled thu once then stopped at the end. Also too bad there is no fast scroll thru from anywhere... the current jump thru is a bit sluggish.
