Why do some icon in DS4.9 have ! for icons
in The Commons
I noticed that the Make A Wish prop icons all have an exclamation instead of a picture. What does that mean?
The Make a wish props were installed with Daz Connect.

It means DS isn't seeing the content for some reason. Check to see that the fiels are present in \Data\Cloud\1_22949. If they are, do the load in DS?
Thanks for your response, Richard. You are always so knowledgable and helpful.
I don't know where that directory is located. I did not find a cloud directory under C:\users\public\public documents\My Daz 3d Library\data.
I had it show me the hidden files too.
I am using the default directories that Daz Studio chose in version 4.8. (I did add one directory where I install other non- daz purchases.)
But I guess it doesn't matter now, as I just checked and the Make a Wish prop now has icons.
Earlier in the day, I did try to apply a few of them. All I could see were the labels and in some cases the labels meant nothing to me. The few that I tried clicking on all gave me an error. But maybe that was because they needed the correct model to be selected in the scene. Not sure. In any case, in my prowling around, I did find where I could uninstall it. So I did and then I immediately re-installed. But there were still no pictures on the icons. However I did select a few and they added an object that looked like a shield. One was added at the models feet and the other was added on the model's arm. At that point I shut down my pc and went about my business.
I just came back and read your post and then tried looking for the directory. When I couldn't find it, I started up Daz Studio 4.9 and checked the preferences to see if I could figure out where that directory was. I didn't see a tab for Cloud or for Daz Connect. There was one for CMS, but it was under the roaming folder. But I did not see the cloud directory there either.
Then I checked the product and I saw all the icons have pictures now.
If you right-click on one of the items then select Browse to File Location it should open a standard file window to the folder that contains it.
I've found in 4.9 there are 2 different ! icons.
So it really could be what Richard had said, or it could also mean that there is no png icon with the duf file so Daz can't display an image of the item.
The one I mentioned is all white, looks like a picture frame with a triangle inside and a ! in the center of that.
The one Richard mentioned of the missing files is a yellow triangle with a !, I believe.
Thanks, yes the symbols are explained here http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/interface/panes/smart_content/results_view/start#notice
I'm fairly certain that the icon I had was the one with the picture frame and inside was a triangle with an exclamation in it. But like I said they seem to be fixed now.
I did find one pro Hiro 4. But this time I think it is the product icon that is missing, because if you go inside all the icons to work with the product are there.
Thanks.
While the link is helpful to know what the triangle and explanation points mean; it does not give any indication what a user should do, if they encounter the issue. Having purchased Ollie, and using the DIM, all of his content has those icons. Yet, the products are listed on the installed tab of DIM. Uninstalling and reinstalling did not fix the issue. I have uninstalled, deleted, and am having DIM re-download the product.
Uninstall, redownload didn't work. Suggestions?
Actually, most of the content I have purchased during the last week is like this. I have used DiM and manual download (dragging the files as needed). The files are in the folders, but DAZ refuses to see them. Quite frustrated with Daz right now. I have wasted my entire weekend trying to get the content to be available for use.
Replied to your other post.
...I get this for scripts, but the scripts do work.
As explained here http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/interface/panes/smart_content/files_page/results_view/start#notice , having the exclamation in the middle of the picture frame means "missing" icon (possibly because there isn't an icon), it has no bearing on functionality.
