Having trouble finding Thorneworks content in 4.8

Purchased Thorne for V4 a few weeks back and no matter how many times I d'l the file and extract it to DS is does not show. A computer search shows the files in My Library but the onboard

DS search function shows nothing. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Thanks

I'm not certain which Thorneworks product that you are referring to, but if its for V4 that is an older one and will be found under the Poser Formats section. For example, my content library is called "3DContent" (rather than MyLibrary or whatever the default is these days) and the Lori-chan character can be found under Poser Formats -> 3DContent => Pose => ThorneWorks => !!lori. So you need to look under Poser Formats to begin with, and under Pose - this is a common catch-all for a lot of content rightly or wrongly. As for the search, the tendency for a lot of vendors to throw those exclamation marks in their product names back then can confuse the search engine. If I do a search for lori, I get nothing,

Search does not work for folders names either, only for file names, and since files often aren't named after the product you simply can't find the product through a search.

In the Content Library, try search for it under Products, they're alphabetized.  Note that not all your products are there, but maybe this will be one of them.  Once found, you can right-click on one or more content thumbnails and see where they are categorized and/or move it to someplace you want it, if you use the Content Library to categorize your products.

Thanks for the suggestions. SixDs the product name is "Thorne." The only listing I find is under Categories>default>unassigned>character>thorneworks> and that character is not the correct one. There is nothing in

the content library under Products. When I do a system search using windows the files are found in my Daz>My Library, so I can't understand why DS can't see them.

    Thanks

I have a feeling that we may be talking apples and oranges to a degree, Navim. Not to suggest that there isn't a real problem, of course. I wonder if you could provide a little more information if possible? Firstly, have you manually downloaded and extracted the content, or are you using DIM (the DAZ Install Manager)?

Secondly, you say that you can locate the files under DAZ>My Library. I believe there is a problem with where the content was installed. Working with the Windows file manager (either Windows Explorer or My Computer, whichever you prefer) could you possibly provide the full file path to the files, i.e. C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\DAZ 3D\My Library\Runtime\etc.. There should be two folders under Runtime into which the product files were installed: Libraries and Textures. The Textures folder should contain a ThorneWorks folder that in turn contains a Thorne folder. The latter folder should contain all the texture maps for the character in .jpg format. The Libraries folder contains the Pose folder which is where you would normally find your character, within a ThorneWorks folder that in turn contains a folder named something similar to the Thorne character name. If you could confirm that full file path and the existence of the necessary files on your hard drive I think we'll be a long way towards resolving the problem.

Here is the first location:  C:\Users\DarkStar1\Downloads\Content\Runtime\Textures\ThorneWorks. here is the last location: C:\Users\DarkStar1\Documents\DAZ 3D\My Library\Content\Runtime\Libraries\Pose\ThorneWorks\Thorn which has all of the necessary files.. And then there is everything in the in between of these two  which consistes of numerous folders labeled thorne as well which are my numerous attempts at installing the conteent.

    Thanks again

    Go Broncos!

The path C:\Users\DarkStar1\Documents\DAZ 3D\My Library\Content\Runtime\Libraries\Pose\ThorneWorks\Thorn shouldn't have a folder named "Content" between "My Library" and "Runtime" (assuming the default folder My Library is the one mapped in DS).  Everything under "Content" needs to be moved up one level to be directly under "My Library".

In addition to what Fixmypcmike said, I would also recommend moving Textures\ThorneWorks and everything in there to the runtime folder under MY Library as well, or I expect you will get one of those "texture not found" errors from DAZ Studio otherwise.

Thanks for the tips. I will remove those content listings today. At least things are looking up around here; the Broncos won!

In my library (installed with DIM) it's here:

    Poser Formats/My DAZ 3D Library/Pose/Thorneworks/Thorne
