Poses folder has disappeared (SOLVED)

Opened my 4.8 studio on my laptop this afternoon and the poses file in my runtime library is not showing.  However, it shows in the correct place in mydaz3dlibrary in the files.  I did nothing between yesterday and today.  No matter what I do I can't get it to read my poses library which has a lot of my v4 and genesis stuff in it as well as a lot of freebies.  Its there, where it should be in the home library but its not showing in studio.  I have tried refreshing, I have tried adding the runtime to the list (even though its already there, just minus the poses file). All of the files that should be in the file are there in the documents file just NOT showing inside of studio.  I also noticed that I now have the connect button on my 4.8 studio despite the fact that I have in no way shape or form installed 4.9 on my laptop and currently have no intention of doing so.  I have the dowload file hidden in my DIM so I can't accidentally install it.

DIM or manual download are the only ways to get Studio upgraded no magic auto-update exists.

Did the poses disappear in smart content or content library?

No magic update...but if it's still sitting in DIM's que, there's a chance it can still get processed without realizing it (not a real big one, but a chance...no, I don't know anyone who has done that...not looking in any mirrors, mind you...but nothing to see, move along...angel).

But, just one folder going AWOL is strange for an update...if it's the Content Library, there could be something else, like an AV sequestering the folder.  If it's Smart Content, then there's probably a database problem.

Doesn't show in either content library or smart content.  This is on the Poser side of the library.  Both smart content and content library including my custom categories are showing a broken link picture.  And where it usually says materials, pose, props, the pose is missing. Let me get my laptop back out and I will go check out the help. Sorry it took so long MIL came home from hospital today and am slightly run ragged at the moment.

Here is a screen shot of my studio showing the missing pose file.  And the files in my daz3dlibrary/runtime.  You can clearly see that the pose file is where it should be in one place and not where it should be in Daz.

And the help section screenshot clearly shows its still 4.8 so no idea why the connect button is there.  Which i think you can see in the screen shot

Okay, one more screenshot...this time of the Content Directory Manager (Edit > Preferences > Content Library > CDM ), expand both the Poser and Daz sections...

    Okay here you go

And ignore the poses library that is betwee the my library and the Mydaz3dlibrary as I tried to add it back in and it didn't work. And It won't let me remove it just keeps saying remove runtime.  and then it removes my daz library instead of the poses folder.

Sorry here is the correct screen shot

Okay this is going to sound really really strange and I have no idea why I thought of it but I went in and looked at my runtime on my pc.  The only thing I could find that was different was the pose file in the ilbrary file (runtime/library/pose) was named poses instead of pose.  I changed it to pose and it popped back up in my studio.  Now, I don't go in and mess with my files, ever, (learned my lesson when I started lol) so I have absolutely no idea how that could happen but that seems to have fixed it.  All of the broken links in my custom categories and smart content are back as they should be.  that doesn't answer why I still have the connect button (its on my pc as well now and both are still 4.8) but it doesn't look like anything else has changed.

That's odd. I've got a "Connect" menu on the menu bar. and when I started DS 4.8, it flashed the buttons in the top right before my custom layout took over.

COuld DIM have pushed a layout onto 4.8?

EDIT: I have 4.9 beta also, so it could have come from that somehow

Frogimus I don't even have the beta.  Straight up 4.8 never touched the 4.9 in any way

I don't have a 4.8 handy to check, but I believe that "Connect" has been a part of the menu for a very long time, it just didn't do much that was useful until 4.9

Could be. I'd never even looked until now, TBH

Ya me neither so who knows.  Will keep an eye on it anyway.  Thanks for everyone who helped me figure it out

Have you installed anything new lately?

The Daz format folder, outside the Runtime structure is named Poses.  The Poser format folder inside Runtime/Libraries is named Pose.  Something installed in the Daz format folder named Pose could stop the Runtime/Libraries/Pose folder from being found.  It would appear to be 'nested content'...

Its entirely possible that something I loaded from another site or a freebie ended up in the wrong place. I usually double check everything before i load things but its been a rather hectic week
