This is a scene I threw together and rendered in 3dl. No texture changes, one single distant light, 10 minutes to render @1620x1080, 2 minutes to apply GIMP filters.

    Very nice.

I've found using AoA lights and 3DL a great boon for my couple of attempts at sequential work.

I set up the location first, props, lights etc.  Roughly storyboard out the shots I'll want, and then do the posing and camera set ups.

The AOA render fast, for one.  The control over what the light does and doesn't do is great for setting up a room as I want it. And I can just focus on the pose sets ups which take the longest time.

Now, I couldn't produce anything like an ongoing with my current method, I'd need to further simplify things down, and do better time saving tricks with queuing or pseudo queing with animation.

I use 3DL for my rendering as how I have it set it is fast for me and since I then do post work to add the toon effect, going uber realistic with Iray is pointless for what I do..

Here is an example here I am using the built in filters that come with ComicLife 3 on the images..
