Excellent!  A lot of detail.  I do think that the large white area, created by the small table with tablecloth, rather distracts the eye, however.  I find my eye is drawn to it repeatedly.  (I can't seem to post below the quote)

Thanks for the remark, Dana. I didn't notice it but you might be right, the white is too bright. I'll rember this for the next time. yes

I've been having some computer problems lately, but it seems to work now enough to post my final entry. Those problems may also prevent me to partake in next month or two, since anything more demanding than net browsing, would likely to kill this machnine completely, so until I get a new computer, I can't do any renders.

    But into matter at hand...

My 3rd entry continues my Sherlock Holmes theme, but this time it goes a bit sci-fi.

    Window Through Time and Space

Working on a case mr. Holmes comes across this weird device, that seems to be showing things from different time and place. What would happen, if I stepped through this "window"? He thinks. Maybe it leads into a great adventure, filled with mystery. "Only one way to find out.", he thinks before stepping through and meeting the greatest detective of modern days.

February 28, 1896: Brooklyn New York. In the early hours of the morning a delivery wagon for the Rather Good Beer Company of this city, was savagely attacked by a gang of backstreet ruffians bent on commandeering the wagon and spiriting away it's contents. The driver of said vehicle, a one Floyd McPatterson of the city, was unharmed in the occurrence. Rushing to collect the local constabulary, Mr. McPatterson returned with the police in hand only to discover the wagon in the middle of the street, the horse let loose and a number of cases of beer missing or strewn about the scene. Fearing that the perpetrators of this vile deed may strike again, the police sent word to the world famous consulting detective, Mr. Sure 'nuff Holmes to assist with the case. Within the hour, Mr. Holmes, aided by his trusty assistant Dr. Wassup (and the Doctor's faithful dog Boston) arrived on the scene and set to work. Serching the location of the crime for clues, Mr. Holmes focused, with close inspection, on a single unbroken bottle of beer left behind by the thieves. "Ah!" proclaimed Holmes. "I think I can deduce who was the criminal mastermind is behind this awful deed!" "Good heavens!" gasped Dr. Wasps. "You don't mean..."

Thanks, Bud. Posted to entry thread.

I suppose that I really should have added a note in posting my entry to avoid misleading anyone who might think that one of the freebies that I used was available for use in DAZ Studio "straight out of the box", which it is not. I am referring to the cape and coat worn by the Holmes character, namely SAV's 19th Century Dynamic Cloak. As the name implies, this is a dynamic clothing article designed to be draped in the Poser Cloth Room. It lacks bones or morphs which would allow it to be used as-is in DAZ Studio. I was able to use it by first creating the final pose I wanted for the M4 character in DAZ Studio and exporting the pose using the Poser Exporter Format utility. Since I happen to have Poser, I then opened a copy of M4 in Poser and posed it with the default pose that comes with the garment in the first frame. In the final frame I used the pose that I had exported from DAZ Studio, and ran a simulation in the Cloth Room that draped the garment from the original to the new pose. I then exported the resulting draped garment as a static prop from Poser and imported it into DAZ Studio where I placed it on the M4 figure. Not perfect, but workable for a one-off render. So, if you don't have access to Poser, you will not be able to use that item without some serious reworking of the mesh (i.e. rigging, adding morphs).

    Title: I Say, Holmes

"I say, Holmes, what manner of creature is this?", exclaimed Watson.

"I should think that would be obvious, Watson", replied Holmes, "We have found the Cat of the Baskervilles.".

    Good work!  Funny cat!

And so begins tonight's story, DA CASES UDDA MISSIN' BEERS!

Ah, finally. I was missing the obligatory Louie story. smiley

    Well done, Lord Ganthor.
