Brick Walls - OK in DAZ Studio 4.8 or Not?

I'm thinking of buying this but I need to know if it will work in 4.8 (as the store unhelpfully specifies the minimum requirement for any product as the current software release version, instead of the true required version).
It's not DRM'd (at the moment) so it's only the need to know what version it works under that is holding back a purchasing decision. Things were so much simpler before DRM Day. :(

It's presets, the only potential issue would be if it were affected by the fix to the Iray transmission setting in 4.9 - which would not stop it working but might affect the appearance of some fabrics. There is a thread discussing the product, I think. Edit: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/70332/irender-materials-fabrics-materials-and-dirt-commercial#latest
Sorry, I was thinking of the wrong product - in this case I would not expect any issue from the fix to the SSS code so it should work in 4.8, yes
Yes, I couldn't see why it might be affected, but you can never tell.
I would appeal to PAs to make a note in their product decriptions if a product really requires the SSS fixes in 4.9 because there are some of us who are staying with 4.8 and so would be unable to use it. Of course, the proper solution is for the store to show the true required software version.
Thanks, Richard.
I'm using 4.8 as well, and all the Iray shaders I've purchased, labeled for 4.9, are working just fine. The only version dependent issue I've heard of was with skin and SSS. I'd be really surprised if Brick Walls doesn't work in 4.8, but you can always request a refund within 30 days if it doesn't.
Thanks. I've just purchased it and am about to run a quick test. I'd hate for my first purchase since DRM Day to end in a refund request, but I'm sure it will be OK.
Like http://www.daz3d.com/fantasy-tower-room-interior which explicitly states:
"Optimized for Daz Studio 4.8, includes both Iray and 3Delight versions"
Yes, exactly like that. That's the kind of information that purchasers really need. Well done to Imaginary_House.
Actually, thinking back, wasn't that DRM'd when it first came out? I thought it was part of that first offer to try and get people to accept encrypted content, or maybe I just imagined it.
I believe you're thinking of "Medieval Storage Room," which is still encrypted: http://www.daz3d.com/medieval-storage-room
Yes. I stand corrected. It's all becoming a bit of a mess, isn't it? Multiple install types, Required software versions that aren't required ... oh dear oh dear oh dear.
You know, there's really no way a PA can be expected to list all the versions a product is compatible with. I mean, some people are still using 4.6, or 4.7, or earlier...
Thankfully, the refund policy helps protect us.
No, I can see that, so it really comes down to the store being wrong. It should show the version of the software that was current at the time the product was released (and presumably tested under). I have never really understood why it doesn't except that it's always been that way.
That's a good point, because with stuff like ToonyCam Pro and AoA lights, that's ... a flat-out lie.
