Smart Content - Lost and Found ?
in The Commons
I see a lot of stuff in the Lost and Found category (in DAZ Studio 4.9) wich is mostly V4/M4 related but also other stuff.
Why is this content not sortet in the coresponding category... People, Hair or whatever?
And is their a way to sort it in the corresponding folder or does this cause problems in the smart content?

Comments
It isn't currently sorted because it lacks meta data, mostly older stuff. We have people going through and categorizing it all which, when you connect with Daz Connect will sync to the latest versions of that data so as we finish sorting it, you'll get latest from us on it. That being said, it is a lot of older products that never had metadata since they existed before metadata was even a thing, so it is going to take some time to go through all of it.
You can also organize those, or any other files, however you want. It won't conflict with the Daz provided metadata.
I see; someday all DAZ Store related stuff (old and new) all will be in the smart content and in the right category.
When I said "sort it in the corresponding folder" I meant if I can move it from the old stuff related Runtime/Libraries folder (Contend Tab) to the new Library folder were the Genesis 2/Genesis 3 stuff is installed or should they better stay in the Runtime/Libraries?
Hi,
I have same question as R25S. Is there any way to move content from lost & found to an existing category? I have lot of not-so-old content in there, from Genesys 2 props, Genesys 3 poses and many others. Maybe is there any way to resycn metadata?
Thanks,
Javier
You can 'edit metadata' by right clicking on the product icon (when in Smart Content) and then assign the correct categories/metadata to it yourself.
All the RDNA stuff that is coming over, has been lumped into "Lost and Found" so I'm going through and editing all the metadata so it'll at least show up in the right category in the tree. It's maddening.
I found an easier way for myself.
If I don't right click the main Lost and Found folder. I select the item by double click and use there the Lost and Found folder. When I do a right click, I can select categorize. There I can use the checkboxes where I want to see my content. I can also selecet more than one content, f.e. all props in the folder Lost and Found.
I can also use that, when I think the content is wrong categorized for my workflow.
But then they are not moved from Lost and Found.
For that I use:
1. right click in main Lost and Found folder. Using Edit Metadata
2. click on Assets
3. select all files in main window, so they are also shown in the categories window
4. I right click one of them, wich shown the Lost and Found folder
5. I use Delete selected categories from listed files.
6. they've all gone
7. I select Purge unlisted Categories from Local Asset Defintions
8. I click Accept and OK and the Lost and Found Folder lost its items.
Hope it can help!
@DAZ_Jon I don't suppose there's a way we can contribute our categorizations back to Daz in some way, is there? That seems like a win for everyone--as we're "all" likely to be attempting something to bring sanity to that ever growing list. :) I'd rather help than wait. ^_^
For me, this quick fix works:
1. Go to Content Library.
2. Under Products> Default > Lost and Found I select the folder to be moved, and right click.
3. Choose Move to Category.
4. Select correct location (i.e Wardrobe > Underwear).
Optional: Add MetaData tags for searching (i.e. Kids 4)
:o)
