Why doesn't Daz Studio 4.9 show what texture is applied in the surface tab?

The default figure I have loading is Genesis 2. I thought the default texture that loaded was Bjorn. To be sure, I went to the surface tab and selected the torso and then I clicked on the dropdown next to diffuse. It brought up a list but nothing was checked. In 4.8, the texture that was applied would be checked. As a check, since the Bjorn texture used to be the default as near as I can recall, I added the gens and applied the Bjorn texture, but it did not match the figure. In the list that comes up in the surface tab, the were a whole lot of Philip textures loaded but nothing checked. I figured that must be the texture that is applied, but when I applied the Philip texture to the gens, it did not match either. I did not see the names of any other character listed.

So how are you suppose to know what texture is applied, if you didn't apply it yourself?

Since there were a whole lot of Philip textures loaded and I didn't apply them, that must be the texture that is applied. But if so, then why don't the two textures match (body and gens)?

If you applied them manually there may be a mismatch in shader, probably Daz standard vs AoA?

OK. I was looking at the Opacity. You have to dig down to the diffuse setting and then when you click the drop down next to diffuse, it will bring up a list and then it will show you which texture is being used. (There will be a check mark next to it.

It appears that the default texture being used on Genesis Male 2 is the Philip texture. As I recall, there is something wrong with the icons for loading the Philip gens materials. There was a thread about it somewhere. I couldn't find it. I had to do something and then save out my own icon to get one to work, but I don't remember what I had to do.

Anyway, I understand how it works now.

Wish they would fix the icons for Philip gens though so they would load properly.
