Encrypted Content - I don't want this and I don't buy this!!!!

I don't want this! and I don#t buy this!!! I want download each and any item, that I have bought further through my product library. If that isn't possible, DAZ will lost me as a loyal customer. And I'm sure, I will not be the only person who will leave then.

So please make it here clear, if it was furthermore possible to download each purchased content to my harddiscs via th product liubrary.

The 3 items released today (which are free with a purchase of $49) are to encourage people to at least try Daz Connect.

    Woah woah woah...

What does this mean for the stuff currently in my product library that I haven't downloaded yet, just installing as I need them thru DIM...they now have some kind of encyrption on them? I thought this ridiculous new scheme was an opt-in thing, not a "you have to opt out" thing.

No, there are now extra download options in your Product Library, the plain zip downloads are still available except for these 3 items, which are Daz Connect only.

On the website? Or in DIM? or in Something else? (I'm not touching 4.9 til I understand how it works, and how it effects my content)

DIM downloads have not changed.  The Product Library still has the zip downloads as well as the Connect offline downloads.

I hope Daz is giving you a gift card for running around and putting out the fires they're starting Mike! :)

Being urged to spend $49 to tempt you try something that you have doubts about isn't my definition of encouragement. I sometimes think the air must be very thin on Planet Daz!

M7pro and V7pro together comes to bit over the 49 dollars needed, that may not be a coincidence, though naturally a lot of people already have one or both of these.

I've already got V7pro, and my interest in M7 (pro or otherwise) is slightly less than my interest in cleaning a grubby oven with a bald toothbrush. It just seems strange to me that 'spend some money on this and try that' is considered a worthwhile tactic to employ in encouraging an audience who will clearly jump through hoops to save cash, given the convoluted nature of all the other Daz sales. One 'no strings attached' freebie would probably have hooked a lot more people in, even if it was only a bunch of shaders or a simple lighting preset. Maybe that's Plan B :)

This would be funny, if it was so very true.

I wouldn't buy them if they were free, as opposed to just free if.

Free and spend first - marketting and dictionaries must have the loosest of associations.

I don`t see that todays three items are DAZ Connect only. I got the three items this morning (for free) and they showed up in my DIM... and can be installed through DIM without problem.

I have a laptop which is my canary-in-the-coalmine system, and a desktop.  Will I be able to download encrypted content on both systems (once I take the plunge on the desktop)?

If they were trying to be cute with the number 49, I guess it is ok.

If they were actually trying to entice me to try out Connect?  *winces at the level of failure*

So DAZ3D is about to force every User to use their new "DAZ CONNECT"?  Where do I opt OUT of this, and make it permanent?  I do NOT use DAZ's "STUDIO", though I keep it installed and runnable for self defense.  The technique being employed against the User General is called "Crowding".   As in 300 Spartans crowding a thousand enemy off the cliff to their deaths.

NOTE:  DAZ servers have cut my download speed to under 50 kilobytes per second  since this "option" appeared in my Product Library downloads.  Yes, this is DAZ, I have been able to dl fine at full DSL speeds from any other site but DAZ.   I am assuming DAZ deliberately did this to enforce participation?  Sure is looking that way to me.  I have the distinct feeling that I am about to become a silent User at DAZ insistence.  Good luck, good life to ALL of you.

Hahah! I was about to ask for support for the 3 free items I didnt put in the basket with my purchase. But seeing as how this would conceivably be a pain in the future, I'm not too upset about it.

That's probably because their servers are overloaded today with everyone downloading the new version and taking advantage of the sale.

Indeed, the same thing happened when 4.8 was released
