Lost favorited Morphs after locking visibility of G3F and save the scene and reopen it

Another nice effect with the favorited morphs. After locking visibility of G3F, saving the scene and reopen it all favorited morphs are gone (not longer under favorites)
Now you may ask why I want to lock the visibility G3F, well I use the SubD Algo Catmull Clark (Legacy) and Soft Corners and Edge because it looks better than the original Catmark SubD Algo of G3F. The problem with Catmull Clark is if you make G3F unvisible (if wanted or by mistake) DAZ crashes. This is a problem I have mailed to DAZ and they were able to reproduce the error but not able to fix this until now (some month ago since I send the message)

Have you tried this in DS 4.9.0.61? I loaded G3F, Set SubD to Catmull-Clark (Legacy) and Edge Interpolation to Soft Corners and Edges. I could turn the visibility of G3F off and on with the eye symbol in the Scene pane with any crashing.
I did not investigate the issue with the favorites getting lost.
I'm not convinced that saving as a scene is the way to save favorites...saving the character as a preset is probably the better way to go.
It works and morphs of G3G added to G3F favorites must work, if you save it as a character preset or as a scene and I can`t save my G3F as a character preset because of some hair and some clothes I save with G3F.
Right now I am useing DS 4.8 and I am not sure what will happen if I now upgrade to 4.9, will my G3F have her favorites then when loading a scene with her made with DS4.8? The thing is, if the favorites got lost once, you can add them new during you work on the scene but after saving and reopening the favs are gone. Once they were gone you are not able to at them new and have them new after saving and reopening the scene. You have to begin from scratch with a brand new G3F
The other thing, how can I save the DS4.8 version I am using right now on an external HD to be able to reinstall it if DS4.9 makes problems?
You would save as a character preset, first...then after you add the clothes, hair, etc...save THAT as a scene.
I've never had much luck saving things just as scenes...saving them as the 'correct' content type FIRST and then saving that as part of a scene has always worked for me.
where is the difference if I load G3F make my character and save this as a scene without saving G3F as character preset first? And saving G3F as scene after saving her as character preset? Where is the difference between these two scenes????
The favorites get lost when locking visibility, save the scene and reopen it, not when turning visbility off, then DS 4.8 crashes. (G3F with the SubD Algo Catmull Clark Legacy).
Two different things.
What I also not understand is why DS uses catmull clark legacy not as standard SubD Algo. This SubD Algo is and looks way better then catmark.
The character is not contained in the scene file...a call to the base character and what changes need to be made to make it as it was saved are what is contained in the scene file. A character has all that makes it that character in its file...including things like favorites. So when the scene file calls the character that was loaded from a preset all that was saved as that character is loaded...then any changes are applied.
the thing is I use things for G3F like "Gens" and "Hair for these Gens" that is parented to the Gens and other stuff for G3F and all is edited by me for my use that is the reason for the "scene save" because I do not want to create everything new everytime before I can start my "work".
And by the way, the thing with the favorites work also when G3F and the add ons are saved as a scene, the problem seems to be something with the figure and DS4.8 and the SubD Algo.
Have reported all to DAZ and some things they were able to reproduce some not (maybe because my english isn`t that good to explain the error correct) but the main thing is, they have no solution until now.
The crash of DAZ Studio 4.8 with G3F as catmull clark legacy if making G3F or bodyparts or a geometric shell fitted to G3F unvisible. That is an error they were able to reproduce but they have no solution so far and I have made my report 2 or 3 month ago.
And I need catmull clark legacy for g3f because the figure looks way smoother without getting lost of details like nipples for example (what will happen if you use mesh smoothing) (especially on the hip/thigh - hip/waist and hip area in general) and for what ever reason renders faster.
"I'm not convinced that saving as a scene is the way to save favorites...saving the character as a preset is probably the better way to go."
I don't think there's a good way to save favorites. Character presets load far too slowly to be of use to me, except when they are required (i.e., a product uses them and offers no alternative). I avoid them like plague. My workaround is to load a blank figure, choose favorites, set each favorite to some small number, and then save as a shaping preset. If a scene ditches the favorites, I can memorize the figure shape, zero it, load the preset, re-favorite the used morphs, and then restore the shape.
