Hi fellow customers, here's Jepe speaking. This is just a friendly mention that now that all three of my dForce Body Hair Products are out in the DAZ shop:
https://www.daz3d.com/jepes-dforce-omni-body-hair-sets (Genesis 9)
https://www.daz3d.com/jepes-dforce-omni-body-hair-sets-for-genesis-8-males
https://www.daz3d.com/jepes-dforce-omni-body-hair-sets-for-genesis-81-males
I have created some helpful screenshots collected in 2 PDFs for working with the sometimes a bit tricky dForce hair. I think it is helpful to at least know some basices to avoid frustration and even DAZ Studio crashes!
The Tutorials are available in my DeviantArt geallery:

Have fun rendering and be creative!

Thanks for another great set of products! I have the 8.1 set, and plan to get 9 next.
Sounds great!
Take a look at the tuts though, maybe some tips are helpful! - Thank you for your support!
Got the G9 version when it came out. I first ran into some confusion because I was setting the preview wrong. I figured it out at the time, but I see you also call it our in your tutorials here which is great!
I find these easy to use and pretty quick to render to, and I like how they look!
The hair looks fabulous in your render, very real. Thank you for your kind words - and yes, I too experienced that it doesn't add much to the render time.
Hey Jepe, do you know if there's a relatively simple way to hide/delete a portion of a hair object? For example, if a man was wearing an open shirt, getting rid of the portions of the chest hair that are under the shirt. I have tried to use the geometry editor and also go in to edit the strand based hair itself, but have not been able to get either of these options to work (I did have some success using these with LightBlue's product).
Well, to be honest, I never would risk to delete something from an object, DAZ Studio is sensitive with that and often tends to simply crash and poof, all your work is gone.
One way to get rid of poke through hair, as in your example the open shirt is, to make a main render with the chest hair hidden and a second spot render only for the open shirt area with the hair visible. These two images can be easily combined in Photoshop or any 2D Editor. (I described that in one of my tutorials.)
Another way would be to open the Density Map of the hair in Photoshop and paint with black for all the hair you don't want . That's a bit of hit and miss, but it works.
dForce hair also reacts on Deform Magnets, you can move hair with that, but it's not very precise.
But to be fair, the spot render option is way faster.
Thanks so much (and it looks like I should've read the tutorial more carefully before asking).
Anyone else getting crashes on Daz 4.23 with this?
I'm referring to my first post in this thread, if you don't mind, please take a look at the tutorials, some basic things to consider to avoid crashes. Yes indeed, DAZ Studio can be a bit sensitive when you work with dForce hair.
Perfect,thanks!
Love the product! Just a quick question regarding some extra customization though. Which properties need to be changed in the surface tab to affect hair length beyond the handful of length shader presets? I could absolutely just be looking in the wrong place, but I'm not seeing a change in any of the surface properties when switching between the length options provided.
Thanks for your products. They are very helpful in filling niches other PAs don't handle. I have all of the hair products except:https://www.daz3d.com/jepes-dforce-omni-body-hair-sets-for-genesis-8-males, I have Sandor & Roderick, and I have all of your Art Deco themed products except: https://www.daz3d.com/jes-berlin-inspiration-vignette
The length of the Omni dForce hair is defined with the "PR Generated Hair Scale" - when you select the hair item in the scene and the surface in the Surface Tab, you have to scroll to the very lower end down - it is usually the last option in the shader in lilac(ish) color. By default it is set to 100%, double the length so is 200%, half the hair length is 50%. Hope this helps!
Thank you for your nice words, I very much appreciate it!
I am very satisfied with "https://www.daz3d.com/jepes-dforce-omni-body-hair-sets",
but very disappointed with "https://www.daz3d.com/jepes-body-hair-project-81".
Not as rich in content as first one, armpit hair and hand hair cannot be selected separately, and there is only one style (armpit hair)
I want to know if "https://www.daz3d.com/jepes-dforce-omni-body-hair-sets-for-genesis-81-males" is suitable for female? Especially the armpit hair.
No, the G8M / G8.1M hair sets are for the males only, because of the unique UV layouts they don't work with the females.
Any chance we could get some info on how to avoid the crashes without having to make accounts on third party sites?
Using the links above asks for login with: "This deviation has been labeled as containing themes not suitable for all deviants." And asks to log in....
I have tried to use a few of those hair sets but they crash DAZ a lot when switching to iray preview with:
DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\plugins\dzirayrenderer.dll"
I'm sorry to hear about your crashes and that you can't login to DeviantArt - it's not "any" third party site, it's a big, if not even the biggest digital art gallery, and even that is an understatement. Unfortunately I don't have other places to store my Tutorial PDFs.
Crashes usually happen when you don't follow the correct procedure with loading the dForce Hair into your scene. You ALWAYS have to select the figure before loading the hair assets, all hair body parts need Genesis selected before loading, EXCEPT the AEM dForce hair, for that you need to select the before attached Genesis Anatomical Elements in the scene Tab. If dforce hair is not fitted to a figure, DAZ Studio crashes instantly when you switch on Iray Preview. See the loading of any dForce hair as the very, very, very! last step before rendering, dForce hair in full preview always slows the viewport so much that any adjustments will get almost impossible. (Without making all the hair invisible again - that's why I included these two very important green/red Properties Presets within the dForce folders.)
Again, I'm sorry that you can't have a look at my Step-by-Step tutorials, that maybe would help you a bit. If all fails and you have enough of experimenting, try to get in touch with the DAZ3D support, they usually are responsible for the technical support, not the PA.
