Glitter lips

Hi,
Can someone tell me what settings I'll need to get the lips to have a glittery effect in iRay? I'm thinkin it's the Metallic Flakes but tried just about every slot for a map I made, which gives me the colors but the flake settings I've been experimenting with are just not to my liking.
Thanks much
Richard

Metal flakes can behave really variably. One thing you might look at is the size of the flakes (odds are they need to be smaller) and the roughness so they are to scale for a lipstick and not super sharp blobs. I'm not sure what sort of map your working with but it may help in this situation to think of the metallic flakes as a layer on top of the base lip/lipstick that your getting from the base color. You may want to vary the color slightly from the base lipstick color. I also noticed testing just now that high/slick shine on the lips kills the metallic because of all the surface variation. You may want to lower the overall gloss some. I also suggest that you use the specular maps or something similar in both the weight and strength slots for the metallic flakes so it does not have a sharp line
If you want to spin your own: you could Forbidden Whispers to find out how the L.I.E. glitter was done in the Extreme Closeup product or, you could apply the diamond shader with the stone displacement by combining the settings from the set of shaders that include the iRay Ubershader...
Hmmm, OK... I'll keep experimenting. Was hoping for a pic with settings to start from... Thanks folks! :-)
It might help to post some reference as to exactly what your'e looking for.
I had a rough stab at it using metalic flakes
I set the weight to 1
roughness to .38
flake size to .13
and density to .29
(all other settings default)
Your settings were the perfect base to work off of. Thanks so much J Cade! YAY!
