You can't instance and instance group, you can only distribute them. Also you can't instance a Group of Assets.

Anything you can instance shows up in the far left list box. Those things that can be distributed show up in the middle List box.

Everything you want to manipulate must be in the root level of the scene list, Instances Plus+ can't or doesn't look inside a group.

yeah I figured as much.

in Carrara with replicators you can replicate replications but D|S has its limitations a plugin must conform to I guess.

It's a while since I used this script, but from memory, I think the nodes you want to instance need to be top level; they can't be buried in a group. For me it was a case of move them, instance them, put them back.

Thanks, TangoAlpha. I'll give that a try the next time (or if I get the chance to go back to that scene for a full-res render).

Interesting, I just checked and Daz Studio does allow you to instance and Instance.

I also double checked with Instances Plus+ and UltraScatter doing anything with Instances.

Instances Plus+ does not offer Instances to be Instanced, but does offer them to be Arranged.

If you select and Instance or Instences Group; UltraScatter errors out and says; "Error: Invalid Dourch Node. Blank is not an Object or a Group of Objects." 

I am currently working on a post that is a comparison between Instances Plus+ and UltraScatter, I should have that done later tonight.

I am using my Zombie Post from Tell me why 3Delight is awesome, please?, where I used both Scripts to do the same job, about three times each.

There are some odd bit is each of them and some very Cool bits.

The Create Instances seems to work, but when I try to use the Arrange Selected, as soon as I click the Process button, the script locks up and never does anything, as far as I can see in the viewport. I have to click the X in the upper right corner to close the script dialog, because the Process button and Close button are grayed out forever. I am having exactly the same problem! I had the problem with Send In the Clones, which is why I thought that if I paid for this new version, the problem would go away. perhaps I should have known better ...
