  • The GC can be for anyone - but yes, people do buy GCs for themselves (even without additional savings) as a way to budget, or to avoid exchange surcharges on mutliple smaller orders.

Yes, you can buy a gift card for yourself. Just put your email address in both the from and to. You will get an email saying [yourname] sent you agift. The gift card code will be in that email. Redeem the gift card code to your Daz account. You won't get any feedback that it worked, but go to your account and check your store credit. Your redeemed gift card value shows up there as store credit. When you buy something in the DAZ store, select to pay with store credit. Some people have been getting two emails. One has a bad code and one has a working code. If you get two emails, and the first code you get doesn't work, try the other one.

I just did this and loo and behold I got only one email with the code. The trick this time was that the code worked only when I used the link through the code, when I tried to copy and paste the  code into the field it didn't work.

I buy myself a gift card monthly (well, most months) both to budget and also to keep my bank from having screaming hissy fits about potential fraud when they see a bazillion small charges.

I suspect 95%+ of all GC sales are people buying them for themselves. There are two main advantages

    1) An effect additional discount on all your purchases depending on how deep the GC discount was

    2) No need to keep getting the credit card/paypal details out as often, as most of your spending is using credit. Personally I prefer this, as it reduces the CC card entries to one large amount, as opposed to many small ones, since I tend to spend smallish amounts frequently.
