Genesis 2 and 3 Sale?

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this a very misleading header. As far as I can see, it's a buy a full price G3 item over $15 and get selected G2 items at 70% off? So it's not a Genesis 3 sale.
ETA the promo even shows all G3 items!

It's sadly not much of a G2 sale either - maximum of three G2 items can be discounted. If they lifted that restriction, I'd be dropping $200+ tonight no question.
As it is, assuming I didn't want the G3 item in question (and I don't), it only amounts to around a 50% discount, which is standard enough that I can afford to wait.
My first impression was that it was aimed at persuading people (like me) who are content to stick with G2 to make the jump to G3 by saying 'You have to buy one of these G3 items before you can get your mitts on the cut-price G2 goodies'. I did buy the V7 Pro bundle a while back and so if I bought her one of the cheaper frocks in order to qualify for a discount on some G2 items I've got wishlisted then it would get used sooner or later, but there'll be no 'making the jump' here. I'm probably about as interested in G3 as I'm ever going to be, and stirring up my irritation by insisting I buy a piece of it before I can get a discount on what I really want isn't going to make me see it in a more appealing light.
I'm gonna rush out and pay full price $135 to get discount on something I want - which I'm struggling to find.
I like G3 and feel just as irritated. I'll vote with my wallet.
Thanks Daz. But this sale has no interest for me. I DO NOT USE Genesis 3 anything. Because I am still building my Genesis 2 library. So thank you for the offer. But to me its no offer at all. and in fact I find this offer silly in comparison to ( Insert your own Politically Correct Answer here,,.). I have no interest in buying something I don't want or need at full price to get a deal on things I could use in the g2f bundles. that would be just ridiculous HA HA HA ! ... Nice try though I am sure some might fall for these kinds of sales gimmick. But I never shop that way. . Now if you would have just had a Genesis2 or a Genesis 70% off bundles sale I assure you that would have been a much better offer that may have some interests..

Count me as one of the ones that *like* this sale. Note that it's any item over $15, so it could be something as simple as the head or body morphs -- which already allows for lots of possibilities in G3F.
Or if you own the autofit clones, you can buy a piece of G3F clothing and use it fo G2F. Or maybe even the reverse and buy G2F clothing for G3F.
The economics of this sale are *amazing*, provided that you purchase the right items.
edit: Actually, the economics are much better than the Holiday sale for these G2F items.
The head or body morphs are $13.97 with the PC+ discount, which is apparently calculated first. Sorting the items from high to low, you have to go through several pages before you get to any items which will still qualify with the PC+ discount included. This would be irrelevant if they let you total more than one item to meet the qualifying figure. I'm not sure why they don't, since the qualifying items are the ones you'll pay the full price for anyway. I'd willingly have bought the head and the body morphs to qualify for the promotion because I know that both would get used, but I'm struggling to find something else in a single item that I'd be that certain about, and so probably won't bother at all.

I don't know why items under $15 (and therefore not qualified) are on the sale page but I don't have the time to keep trying various items only to have them not work. So I'm just going to pass and save up for March Madness
Yes. A devil of a time finding $15 items that i haven't bought or still want to buy at full price to trigger the discount. I guess we're meant to aim for the big bundles.
There are a number of Genesis 2 items that i really want though...

I can't see why the Poser exporter won't work...? I mean, it does have its issues, but it should work the same as it has for G2 content...
I would assume that a lot of people *aren't* PC+ members. But, even as PC+, you can still choose from numerous non-DO items. Just looking at the list, I already see 10+ items above $15 that I actually want.
I actually have the *opposite* problem, in that I already have a lot of G2F content, and trying to find something I still need is a bit tricky.

I think we should be allowed to buy multiples to reach the $15 requirement, if we are PC+ members. Everything listed as a qualifying purchase is over $15 if you aren't a member, so it feels a little like we are being penalized for being members! What difference should it make if we have to buy 2 or more items to reach the $15? We'd still be paying the "full" member's price on those items...
My wallet thanks you, DAZ. Looks like another day I'll manage to not buy anything. That makes ten days in a row I haven't spent anything at DAZ. A personal best record, I think.
I like(d) the sale... Found two G3 items on the wishlist (close to the $15 threshold) and picked-up six nice Gen2 items. A great deal for me; obviously "...your mileage may vary.." Thanks Daz!!
Yeah, I loved this sale. I've only recently started using Genesis 2 but I have a growing number of Genesis 3 stuff in my wishlist. I just nabbed Gianni 6 Pro at a great price. I was planning on getting him in a few weeks but just saved about 70 bucks. Thank you DAZ! *hugs and kisses* ;)
I was going to participate in this sale, but my PC+ discount made it so the thing I wanted from the G3 section didn't meet the sale criteria.
Joining in to voice disgruntlement.
It gets worse. While adding my voice to a similar thread in the PC Members area, I delved a little deeper. I found 22 New Releases in the list of qualifying products that won't qualify for anyone due to the new release 30% discount, (including some DO and PC+ items, which are even less for members.) Why are those even listed? "Here's a really great offer, folks. Just buy any one of these items and get 70% off another category. Only you have to ignore some of the items in the list because they don't actually qualify for the offer. But hey, made you look!"

Eh, I picked up the G3M pirate outfit and the G3 to G2 clones... :) I like Pirates.
Used the PC coupon to bring it down to something I could actually afford. That's it for the month, but it works out in the end.
TBF, allowing previous new releases to qualify is pretty generous of DAZ as it is.
At the same time, I think it's entirely a backend issue that we see "unqualifying" items. Both PC+ and non-PC+ members see the same storefront, and I don't believe there's any real way to actively cull items from a page depending on price point.
edit: I personally had to opt out of the sale... only a few G2F items caught my eye, and I'm in no rush to buy them as March Madness is a couple of months away. A shame because I had my eye on some G3F items :(
I finally got the EXO suit for G3F that I hadn't gotten yet. So that was my qualifying purchase.
I had to get Zev0's Shape Shift for G2F now that I'm playing with Genesis 2 again...
