unwanted black boarders (3rd party render)

If anyone knows how to get rid of the black borders (on the sides) Corel Videostudio makes that would be nice. Even their resampling options, fit to project size etc., doesn't get rid of them, just narrows them a bit. There must be a way but the tutorials I've seen refer to that resample trick that doesn't actually get rid of them. All my vids have this black border... I didn't think much about until someone asked for some vids without them!!
