Coleraine Hair is not sub-d!
It's a Genesis 3 product, released in 2015. How did this get missed?
I did a closeup render, and there's zigzags everywhere. Did an edit->object->convert to sub-d, and it looks much better. Still a few kinky spots, but a big improvement from the "1968 has gone seriously wrong" look it had before.

most hairs are actually not subd'd already so usually you have to convert it yourself.
No it's not subdivided already, subd items take longer to render so users should only do it on items when rendered close enough to need it. You can tell from promos where the zig zags appear and whether you will want it.
I always provide base polycount of my items on he product page too fyi.
For a short time when subd was new in DS I released some items with subd but found most users are able to tolerate higher base polycount instead - so where I used to model to about 5k-20k quads now I allow about 30-50k quads which is still relatively conservative so users can subd if their patience for renders allow.

I can't see that it needs to be Sub-D, if it's not broken don't fix it!
