Exactly what I don't want

I'd hoped that an AI product from Daz would help jump start my productivity by giving me an editable scene file ideally using products I already own. Instead, Daz AI Studio is attempting to do the 3D artists job and reducing us to begging the AI via text messages... It's exactly backwards. Please reconsider this product and build the thing any Daz artist could benefit from--quick Daz 3D file generation (*not* 2D images...except for preview). The subscription could then be to allow the AI to limit its product selection to just the artists already owned product. That would be worth paying for. A bad 2D image creator by an AI "competitor" to the artist is not... Thanks for listening.

I have to agree. I enjoy playing with Daz AI Studio, but I fail to see the benefit of an image generator to those that use Daz Studio and purchase assets from the store. I already use other more developed AI apps to enhance renders, or create new, more realistic images from image prompts created from my renders.

Hopefully DAZ are working on some kind of AI helper that will be part of DS, guess time will tell.

We do know that Daz is working on a 3D/DS AI tool - this isn't a replacement for that, though it may in part spring from work done en route.

I seem to recall an announcement that seemed to be what the requestors are talking about. I don't know if it was limied to already purchased items or not.

I understand that 3D artists need to have a place to vent about Generative AI.

I am not convinced that the Daz AI Studio sub-forum is the place to do it.

One could argue that discussions about  that "3D/DS AI tool" could fall into "Daz Studio Discussion".

It seems crucial to make a clear distinction between:

    • using Generative AI as a tool to generate images
    • using AI as a tool to enhance the user interface and the workflow in a 3D software

    • The repeated message that Daz AI Studio is just a "side project" may not be helpful to gain new subscribers or PA with skills to train checkpoints and LoRA - if that is the goal here.
    • For years "real 3D artists" have belittled Daz 3D Studio users and now the same cycle repeates again with Generative AI.
    • At some point steps need to be taken to instill trust that "Generative AI" is respected as an alternative, standalone way to create images - to make potential customers or subscribers feel welcome.

now that is an interesting idea...!!!....i see where you are going and i like it. ......the prompts could/would ref store items....... there was/is? something like that for code programing; where you have blocks of code. and take these block to build your program - MIT made that i think. certain blocks can only fit with other blocks.

  • I think overall what I want from Gen AI with respect to something like DAZ is a way to improve my workflow and make tedious stuff easier to do, not create the art for me.

For example, I really, really, really hate managing my content library (as I suspect most of us do). And it's only gotten worse as my asset count has ticked up into the many thousands. So, I tinkered with AI and created a test application that allows me to search my content library by typing what I want using plain English, and display the products I own that match what I want, sorted by a "similar to what you aked for" score. The first version of this took me about a week to put together, and it works decently well. With some improvements it will probably be my main way to access and use my content.

I was able to do it because I'm a software developer and I didn't think the DAZ content management system is ever going to improve to the point where I can rely on it, especially as my asset library grows and I really don't want to spend my time manually categorizing stuff. AI is really decent at that sort of thing.

But this should be avaible in Studio. It would actually be a more useful way to integrate AI rather than making yet another Midjourney clone. I had to tinker with internals of Studio's CMS and the DAZ web site to figure out what went where. DAZ has access to all of that and presumably could do a lot better job. Heck, they have access to the entire catalog and could incorporate that into Studio so that your query returns not only what you own but could also point you to things in the store that match what you're looking for.

As others have pointed out, using AI to handle automatic posing or character interactions in a scene are things for which AI can be a force multiplier.

as I have said elsewhere, there are Ai tools that can be used in post on 3D renders

DAZai was never that and I am not surprised at them phasing it out

a better subscription tool would be something you can send your render to from studio

(as opposed to uploading random images)

then perform postwork on it using the DAZ hosted Ai under a subscription plan

    to

    • inpaint features like redo hair for realism, post fixing, enhancement
    • apply a short animation using something under an Apache 2.0 license like Wan2.2 they can host
    • apply lipsync or expression

I prefer local generation as I don't want my adult-themed images/videos censored, I'm also not made of money, so perpetual is the only way to go, as a subscription model is incredibly easy for abuse, which 90% of the tech/video game industry practices, as those industries are incredibly consumer hostile.

But yeah, the idea of training my own creations as models is a brilliant idea, and daz is not known for being consumer-hostile, however, the temptation is still too great to take advantage of consumers, and it takes exceptional people to not get tempted, as the average person would, it's why there's wide-spread abuse... It's too bad that the industry itself is locked behind consumer-hostile monetary tactics…

Thank-F for GNU licenses and open-source!

Any service needs to be paid for.  its a question,  what form that business model will take.
