PC Pass Foretells Returning Icons?

So, on the PC Pass Weekend event page, DAZ has a list of all the "Top Selling" DOs, many of which consist of Gen 6 Pro Bundles. These Gen 6 Icons are as follows on the list:

  • Keiko
  • Callie
  • Monique
  • Ninive
  • Darius
  • Scott
  • Ysabeau

This is interesting to see, as it gives us some insight as to which new characters have succeeded enough to become re-occurring members in the "Family", for DAZ did say that only the more significant sellers would advance to Gen 7.

So, with all that said, it doesn't surprise me at all to see characters like Keiko (Anime/Manga) and Ysabeau (Thorne) in there, but seeing Callie, who was highly scrutinized, does. But the biggest shocker for me personally is seeing both Monique and Darius there, where African characters (males doubly) supposedly don't sell well.

    Actually it doesn't say anything. It just says that they were bought because the were simply steeply discounted recently and ending up higher on the list according to recent sales.

    Still, no one was forced to buy them. Clearly they peaked the interest of quite a few people enough to invest in that discount.

    Well if the only way a figure is purchased in masse is a steep discount, then you probably shouldn't expect them back for another generation. And deep discounts are generally done for the last generation. If that causes it to end up in the hot product list, you shouldn't think that buying figures for a discount in anyway means they'll be back; probably would mean the opposite. I would think it needs to succeed at release to come back.

    Then that pretty much garentees Lilith, Mei Lin, and Lee for startlers. DAZ raved Lilith's "huge success" (as exactly quoted) on the store page, and Mei Lin & Lee got a significant abount of post-release content.

    Please do. It's one of the few things that's keeping my ever thinning enthusiam for this hoddy somewhat alive... X_X
