IRAY RENDERING WITH CPU ONLY OPTIX ACCELERATION SLOWS RENDER!

Hi,

I have just done a very quick comparison rendering a scene with 6 human characters, lit by HDRI 3000x2000 approx 

I am using CPU ONLY!

Accelerator On  1st Iteration 8.09  2nd Iteration  9.11  = 62 seconds per iteration

Accelerator OFF 1st Iteration 5.21  2nd Iteration 5.51  = 30 seconds per iteration

No changes at all were made to scene or settings.

This such a dramatic difference it may well be worth checking what happens on your setup.

    Thnks, but this isn't news. Optix impact hasn't been shown to be consistent or predictable.

    Its news to me, only a couple of months back there were people here saying to always use Optix. I was hoping that someone might explain when to use ity and when not to use it.
