    I'm blessed to live about 20-30 minutes away from Minneapolis, which has an amazing emphasis on the arts. So many theaters and museums!

    ...of course, I rarely have the ability to actually get down there to enjoy any of it anymore, so it might as well be on the moon. But it was nice when I was younger and life circumstances allowed for it.

    I wonder if there is an AirTag that I can put on my tv remote.  I have 3 remotes for my xumo box but only one remote for the tv. There is an ipad app that can control my tv but it can't turn on or off the tv.  I can probably unplug the tv to turn it off, but I don't know how to turn the tv on without a remote.

    There was one I used to buy at Sainsbury's, one of their sourdough-based "Taste The Difference" range and my god that was delicious!  They don't sell it anymore, and I'm convinced it's purely because it was so damn nice that it stopped similar pizzas from selling (you always had to be quick to get one).  But after around a month of no longer seeing it, I had to look it up on the web just to remember what the cheese was called.  Waste of time that turned ou to be, cause now that I want it (so that I can buy the cheese separately), I cannot find the name I wrote down, nor can I find a trace of that damn pizza on the internet!

    It was very white, soft, almost like a cream, and although there are a few types of cheese that look like that, this one was especially delicious!

    I think the only way I will ever find out is to look into cheeses based on consistency and go though every one of them until I see a name that rings a bell.  I'd know it right away if I heard the name again, but I can't remember off-hand what it is.

    Mascarpone?</>

    Complainting non-complaint:  At the restaurant yesterday they sell delicious pies.  When it came time for dessert I believe that I asked for a slice of carrot cake (I've had it there before and it's wonderfully, moist and tasty), but the waitress said they only sell it as large or small whole cakes.  That confused me because I know I'd had a slice of the carrot cake there previously.  But then she said "but the whole small cake is only a dollar more than a slice".   (*???*)  Thinking she'd said they don't sell it as slices, I was now even more confused, but I just aquiesced and said, "OK, I guess I'll just take a small cake home with me".  Then I got a question about whether I wanted cherry sauce on it or not.  Sounded strange to me so I said "no, just plain please".  To which she returned a few monents later reporting that, "We don't seem to have any plain ones left".  I then said "Well, I'll try it with the cherries then."  A few minutes later she comes back with two small cakes in her hands and said "Oh, sorry, but I did find a plain one, or do you want the cherry one?".  Rather that back out of yet another decision and feeling adventurous I just said "cherry is OK".  So, now I have my doggie bag of meat & potatoes, and my small dessert cake and take them home.  When I got home I cut myself a piece of the cake and it was cheesecake not carrot cake.frown  Now I don't know if I'd misspoken or she misheard.indecision  I was looking forward to the carrot cake, but cheesecake is good too.smiley  Mmmm..., cheesecake with cherry sauce on top.yes  Makes more sense than carrot cake with cherry sauce on top.

    No, not Mascarpone. I had Mascarpone on the pizza I had the other day.  It does look a lot like Mascarpone though.

    LOL no kidding... I was about to ask if that was a regional quirk.

    I mean, no shade, every region has its food weirdness, but...

    Nope, I've never even heard of that one!  Think more along the lines of that pure white icecream, soft but can still hold its shape.  It's so soft that I used to dip my finger in the blobs and spread it around the pizza more evenly before cooking it, so that I got the taste of it all over the pizza.  I do that even with Mascarpone, but it's even easier with this stuff because it's so soft.

    No, no, no and no - all wrong - and even Python's cheese shop failed to list it, nevermind stock it!

    I'm actually very annoyed by not being able to find it.  And I think the only way I ever will find it, is to find a picture of the pizza packaging that it came in, because there must surely be one floating around on the web, even if it is as long as possibly two years now since I last saw and bought one.

    The only thing I absolutely know for sure, is that it was a Sainsbury's branded one, it was from their sourdough-based "Taste The Difference" range, and the topping consisted of spinach, mushroom, possibly something else in addition, and this mystery cheese, whatever it is!

    If only there was a way to list every "Taste The Difference" pizza they ever released, I would be able to spot it dead easy.

    Well, this is a cheesy conversation.surprise  And coincidentally, I have had two cheese events in the last couple days.  I had "Fried Blue Cheese" on my filet at the restaurant last Sunday.  Interesting but not worth repeating.  By the time my steak arrived at the table, the cheese had solidified into a wafer about the size of a quarter, bleuy but not creamy or melty at all.indecision  And today I was grocery shopping and felt adventurous, so I wandered to the cheese isle and picked a small package of one I'd never tried.  "Gruyere".  When I got to the checkout, the cashier looked at it quizzically and asked how it was pronounced.  And me, having heard the above Monty Python sketch, an embarrassing number of times, immediately came forth with my best learned pronunciation.  She tried saying it several times but couldn't get the hang of it and excused it by saying that she doesn't speak Spanish.frown  Was my pronunciation that bad? indecision

    ...I believe he cheese is bocconcini .  It is a form of soft fresh instead of aged mozzarella which traditionally is made from buffalo milk, but os also made from cow's milk

    Burrata,is another style which is made by encasing a stracciatella filling (mozzarella strands and cream) within a mozzarella pouch  whereas Bocconcini are small, bite-sized balls of fresh mozzarella. Unlike bocconcini burrata cannot be melted.

    Was this the pizza?

    @NylonGirl
    Nope.  That's from Sainsbury's but it's not Sainsbury's own "Taste The Difference" range, and although it's similar overall, that's not it.

    @KyotoKid
    Nope.  That cheese is nowhere near white enough, and not as soft either.  That said, the box design and the range shown is exactly the correct type of packaging, and exactly the correct range, and if only there existed a website run by some enthusiastic train-spotter type who does "Pizza Spotting" instead, I would be able to find it!

    I'm wondering now if there are people out there with the hobby of "Pizza Spotting", so hands-up if you're a Pizza Spotter.
    Also, I reckon "Pizza Spotting" would be a great name for an indie, cause it would grab attention in a WTF sort of way!

    I've spouted some pretty hilarious mispronunciations myself, although I've gotten better and do it less frequently now.

    One of my biggest was caused at a car wash when I pronounced Volkswagen Scirocco as Volks-waggin Ski-rocco.

    Hadn't a bloody clue what they were laughing at until I questioned what the big joke was!
    Apparently it's "Volks-vaahgon" not "Volks-waggin", and it's "See-rocco", not "Ski-rocco".

    The problem of course, is that some people just don't know how to speak proper like what I do!

    German "V" = English "F"

    German "W" = English "V"

    pronounced in English folks-vaahgon  (translation: people's car)

    When I was still in highschool, I knew about classical music and the Russian composer Tchaikovsky, and I pronounced it with the English "v", but would often see it spelled with a "w" on German records (pre CD era)  That confused me to no end as to how to pronounce it.frown (also no Google in the '60s).  Apparently there is no "cow" involved.indecision

    Fast forward 50 years and I learned that it's actually pronounced just like it's spelled, Чайковский.devil ЧЧ

    Complaint:  A week ago I discovered that I was nearly out of canned sweet corn.  So, Amazon to the rescue!  A few days ago I ordered a 12 can flat of DelMonte Sweet Corn.  The box arrived this morning, but contained DelMonte Sweet Peas instead of corn.frown

    Non-complaint:  I contacted Amazon customer support**, reported my issue, and their reply was that that product is not returnable, but I was eligible for a refund, and that I could either discard or keep the peas.  Cool beans!yes  I get my money back so that I can reorder the corn and try again.  And I also get to keep the peas for free, which were still on my wishlist anyway.smiley  Thank you to the low paid worker in the warehouse who doesn't care.devil

    ** Note:  The Amazon Customer Support chat dialog is well hidden, but the intantaneous replies imply that it still seems to be an automated or even AI response.  However, it is a little more useful than Amazon's standard return menu system.

    Wow, you'll never guess what, because after all the cheese searching that's been going on around here lately, and the much-appreciated detective work, nope, that's not it either, but I do have a cunning plan!

    complaint: I'm tired and overwhelmed and just want to flip tables. I really wish that there was a separate term for autism with high support needs rather than autism... because I am so, so over people assuming low support needs and then treating me like I'm being difficult when I can't magically make my kid conform to things that don't take his end of the spectrum into account. I mean, hey, so sorry to cause inconvenience by him not having the insiprational, feel-good-story-of-the-week kind of autism, but maybe the one most affected by this situation is -- wait for it -- him. And maybe people who claim to be helpful and inclusive could stop working against me and actually... help.

    Also, I know it's not reasonable, but missing the 60-cent whoopsie sale this morning feels like punishment for the hour and a half of sleep I managed to get last night. Which -- of course -- coincided exactly with changeover.

    COMIXIANT  The cheese might be one of their Goat cheeses. Verde Capra is a goat cheese with a heavy, wet curd that might collapse if pierced. Just a guess Verde Capra

    ...the game is afoot.

    Not about to give up yet.  Just need to catch forty winks here on the other side of the pond and start afresh when I awake.

    Morning coffee, a bit of brekkie, and I will be ready to dive into this mystery again.

    Well it definitely is very soft, I wouldn't call it wet though, because in look and texture it's more along the lines of that white stuff they sell over here called Philadelphia (which I'll have to try that again because it must be a decade now since I had some of that)!

    @KyotoKid
    I sure appreciate your enthusiasm and you're a great sport, but I tell you what, at this point I think it'd be nothing short of a miracle to find it!

    I thought to look through the Wikipedia's list of cheeses last night, it's a different page to the one I saw before, and you wouldn't believe how many there are, and I still didn't find it!  Now I'll admit I was a bit tired at the time and got a bit fed-up of scrolling through it, so it's quite possible that it's on there and that I missed it through lack of attention.  But wow, what a ridiculous situation.  What's even more embarrassing is that back when I wrote down the name of it, searching Sainsbury's website did show the cheese available separately as a purchasable cheese product.

    See this list if you dare, and prepare yourself cause it's quite a big one. I'd no idea it was such a thing, but then it makes sense I suppose, it being a dairy product:
