I am strongly in the "NO AI" camp for the ethical issue that were brought up re: training and infringement,  but recognized that nothing is stopping the tidal wave of this new tech,  so have been using and developing the skills since the end of 2022.

I just feel AI art made by a computer should be clearly labelled as such.  Even if I prompted the thing into existence.

Just out of curiosity. Then why do you use AI at all? From an ethical point I partially agree, but then you also would have to condemn the use of Photoshop Filters regardless what a Filter does. Because AI generative images are exactly no different from Phtoshop Filters. Or if you are familiar with Filter Forge. Filter Forge would be probably the best example. They are Algorithms. AI is not truly intelligent but merely the most efficient way to deal with data and computation. The notion we are having a truly intelligent "thing" is a misunderstanding. Besides, I want you to look, or, you may if you are interested, to have a look at the picture below and find out how it was made. From Photoshop to AI, to hand-drawn.. everything is possible. But you have to back up with convincing arguments on why you think the picture was made either or the other way. Simply to say it was made in such and such way because we discuss the subject is not good enough.

    Hey FB,

You've probably figured out that I think you are an amazing artist and PA. Your products are some of the most compelling in any of the marketplaces I use. I am not sure these amazing lablled AI mages are making the point you may think they are, particularly to folks new to Daz Studio? I mean, Man, so of those are superb. Yes, they could be created with tons of expensive products in DS and hours of retouching in Photoshop but then, most wouldn't take the post work as far as is required to get the same kinds of results AI can produce so quickly.

As for me, if someone is a hard no on AI, I am ok with that until they start telling me how to do my art. Personally, I build in Daz or Poser but do enjoy improving with things like Krea's AI enchancement. I also like transforming some of the characters into recognizable faces of family and friends. I generally do not try to present my images that employ the use of an AI as anything but just that. AI created or AI enchanced.

I will say that I think professionals are well served to keep their fingers in AI somewhat because as you have rightly stated, the WAVE is coming! I do not think it's all as simple as clicking the infamous "make art" button however. This image took photos shot and multiple AI platforms all with their own specific prompting particulars and even codes. Not saying it's the same as being like a high level DS or Blender user but still, not clicking one button.

Greybro,  your comments make perfect sense,  and I agree with the sentiment.  I think I started making those labelled images in protest (i dont remember exactly but atleast a couple years back),   and I obviously acknowledged the artistry in the results cause I'm posting what I managed to prompt. And as you say,  an artist has to use the tools available, keep updated with new tech and tools,  so I continued to learn how to prompt the finesse into an image. I see both sides of the equation at this point, and it is folly to think any protest cohort can slow the developmental onslught of technology.  And I've kept every prompt I've ever developed and used,  recognizing the value in those text words in the whole "make art button"  process.

I think the character you posted is spectacular. Beautiful and alluring,  with a hint of the dark side suggesting trouble's coming. I do respect the work you put into it,  because I do know what is involved with the process.  Nothing just happens without effort.

.Yah, so I would save these images in my Daz Gallery  and then link them to this thread in the forums. All those links are now broken hence the big empty image box in each post.  sigh.
