Duplicate Formulas found in Files

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

Every time I try to load in V7 or another G3F figure, I get a "Duplicate Formulas found in Files" error. I can ignore it, and there does not seem to be any problem with the figure, but it is a little irritating. How can I fix this?

    First, check the log file after loading any Genesis 3 female figure/character (all should be affected if any are), scroll down to the end and look there for the full error  -that should list the files causing the issue. Check that there is only one copy of the problem file(s) in your content directories - usually it will be enough to check for the folder as, if this is the issue, theer will be multiple files from the same folder.

    Had the exact same problem with the duplicate files you did. As soon as I unistalled Olympia 7 expressive no Issues. If I am not too much of a bother, if you hear from DAZ can you let me know? The problem is when this happens, I cannot run my Batch render script, which is pretty annoying...

    For the record:

    Victoria 7 Attitude Expressions is also still triggering the duplicate error.

    I mentioned this in a support ticket on December 08, 2015.

     

    Don't know if

    - they will eventually go around fixing this product

    - the information got lost

    - staff is still very busy working trough 4.9 issues

     

    My reaction is also to uninstall any products that cause a duplicate error because that error is extremely annoying.

    But then I would still very much like if reported duplicate errors would be fixed in a short time frame after reporting them.

    Especially because these are errors that do not only affect one product but trigger on the load of ANY figure of the same generation.

    I have this problem with both V6 and V7 products, and uninstalling products you paid for and actually want to use (Like Olympia 7) doens't seem an appealing idea. I wish DAZ could make some fix to deal with it instead.

    I get this with G3F after I installed a figure from 'rosity.  I asked the PA there about it and was told there was 'nothing they could do' ;)  It does nto appear to affect anything so far as I can see.

    It's pretty easy to find the duplicate section in the file and remove it (unless it's encrypted). All you need is a text editor and perhaps the 'gzip' utility to uncompress the file. This, and windows only paths seem to be fairly common errors.

    I don't get this with Olympia 7 - that may be the target, not the source of the issue. Please post the log entries for the error.

    Make sure you don't have a /data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 3/Female/Morphs/Cake One/V7 Attitude/ in two or more content directories. If not try uninstalling the Victoria 7 Attitude products ( http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-7-attitude-bundle ) or as many of them as you have, make sure the /data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 3/Female/Morphs/Cake One/V7 Attitude/ has gone, try moving it out of the content directory if not, and reinstall the Victoria 7 Attitude stuff.

    I've cleaned everything out that I can think of so that the only verson of this product is now managed by DAZ Connect and is not in any other content dirs (and I have stripped my list of content dirs down as far as I can), but I continue to get the duplicate formula errors when the Victoria 7 Attitude Expressions are installed - the location of the Attitude items in the log now points to the DAZ Connect version instead of the non-DAZ Connect version.   The only way I can stop the error is to uninstall Victoria 7 Attitude Expressions product with DAZ Connect.    A subset of the new log messages is below:

    And with the morphs uninstalled via Connect they do not load into the figure? If not then yes, I think this needs a support ticket.

    Nope - when the product is uninstalled the Genesis 3 Female Figure loads without the duplicate formula errors.   I'll take this up with a support ticket - for now I'll just leave the product available but uninstalled to stop the errors.

    Thanks everyone for your reseach into this issue.  Mine crept up after migrating my asset files to a larger drive.  It was indeed the V7 Attitude Bundle that was causing the duplicate formula issue.  In my case I had to (1) Delete the V7 Atitude Bundle using DIM then (2) Search for the file on my asset drive and Delete it from my content folder then (3) Delete the file from the new (Daz 4.9) Cloud Storage content folder as well.  After all that I reinstalled the V7 Attitude Bundle using the DIM and all is good again.

    I still have the problem, even after uninstalling and deleting... same product (V7 Attitude Bundle)

    Well, it has been reported so it may be necessary to wait fro a fix. if you are worried about running out of the thirty day refund window open a ticket and explain that you are waiting fora fix before making a final decision.

    Edit: as an update (29th of march 2016)

    it is now working after I reinstalled it via dim (can't find it in daz connect anymore) and uninstalled it, then deleted the files, stopped cms, started cms, reinstalled it again and voila...

    so I guess it was in part a problem on my computer in some way or the other...
