Good afternoon,
I”m really enjoying working in Daz3d. My skills aren't great yet, but I'm getting there. Anyway, I'm interested in custom modifying or creating clothing with wording and lettering on it, like a workout shirt saying, “Get Fit,” or “Sweat,” or something like that. Is there a tutorial for doing so? I've found tutorials for making clothign for Genesis figures but I haven't seen anything for lettering the clothing.
Many thanks,
Bob

Here's a tutorial for doing that. It's using the Genesis Supersuit, but the process should work with just about any shirt you choose.
It occured to me that you may be more interested in making actual textures for the clothing items. I haven't done that yet myself, but I would think you could add the text in Photoshop or Gimp. You should be able to find teimplates for most items you've bought here at DAZ in your product library; they are ususally on the same pages you would download them from if you're not using DIM.
There are a couple of ways to do it: you can alter the texture itself through photoshop or another image editing program, or you can use the layered image editor within DAZ Studio to insert your text on top. Keep in mind that one may be easier than the other depending on your familiarity with either one.
I would personally recommend using the layered image editor: make the text with an alpha background inside another program, then pop it down in DS. This makes reloading/repositioning the texture way easier than working with the textures externally.
Note that if you are rendering in Iray, you can easily use the decal node. That is exactly what it is for.
