In a perfect world, the additional items (character, hair, props, etc) used in promo images would be listed. I would think it would help sell those items in addition to the main product being sold.

  • i know they usually have alot of the characters in the photo and the cloths and hair but i dont see  anything for the back ground or whats used

It's my impression that many of the PAs contract out the promo pictures (a search of the gallery will show the "guilty" parties) wink Sometimes when you're putting an image together, you sift (or search) through your runtime and toss whatever is relevant in. Often a fortuitous freebie will be just the ticket. My point being, unless I deliberately log each item by name on a piece of paper, I will usually not remember everything in the image. Now, simple, single-entity, portraits are simpler. Log the hair, outfit, and character and you're done. Also, as I recall, there is one infamous hair vendor that uses a particular character (not commercially available) that I've been coveting for years. They wish to have this beauty all to themselves, it seems.

You might browse the galleries to see if the promo artist logged the content in their gallery post. Or, as many here do, simply ask in the forum.

  • ah because i see alot of back ground and buildings i like and im like which one is that, btw did you get your name based on the dc character

are the backgrounds models or are they premade or stock art? It seems kind of time consuming to post a promo for an outfit and build a scene around all those shots, but I don't know.

If you're referring to the backdrop (such as outside your windows). I picked up a freebie on ShareCG called "curvy wall" (I can't relocate it) which I scale and place simple photos from a web search on. I try to avoid copyrighted material, but I am not selling my images so I don't fret too much. The DAZ Cyclorama might work too. The curved aspect allows you to tuck the outer edges behind your set to get a "360 panorama". If you use this method, search for large images with a 3:1 (width to height) format and they won't come out blurry or compressed.

Below is an example from my gallery. Just a random night city scene. (set the ambience to 100%).
