Viewport size question

My Alien is smaller than my last laptop screen, so I've never encountered this before, but it's been bugging me...
If I have both side panel open, it cuts off part of my sceen. Is there a way to remedy this without constantly having to close one side? (See how most of the right side of the thirds guide is cut off?)

One option is to drag the tabs in the left panel into the tabs that run along the top. That way I only have to keep the right panel open, which is where I keep the most important tabs I need when creating the scene, which (for me anyway) are Scene, Parameters, Surfaces and Smart Content, with the Aux Viewport in the top right.
Can I see what you mean?
I am using 4.8, but this should be achievable in 4.7 (I think). Screenshot below
I see ... It would take a little getting used to, but I think being able to see my full scene all of the time is worth the adjustment. Is this issue why you switched to a single side panel, as well?
Out of curiosity, what do you use animate lite for? Does it aid in static renders at all?
And with so many tabs at the top, does the window block the image or just shrink it down?
You are right, I rarely need the animate panel, and often close it down (when I remember to). The only time I use it is when fitting dynamic clothing.
The downside of my method is that when viewing one of the top panels you can not see the main view at the same time, so I typically put things in the top panel for which I do not need the full view (for example the render settings). However even if I do need to see the scene, I can do so throught the Auxilary Viewport at the top right (although this is only a small view). The upside is when I have to browse the content library to find non-smart content I have an almost full screen view of this panel and all its multiple expansions (particularly for Poser content files).
Wow ... having a full screen would be handy for viewing the poser content folders. I shall try that :D
Thanks for the help :D
Use a second monitor.
If you travel, bring a portable monitor or an HDMI cable (to hook up to the hotel room TV).
Why fight the UI?
You have your Viewport set to 2000:1243. Where and How do I set my Viewport size using Daz Studio 4.8?
Every time I Open a New Scene, the viewport size defaults to the previous scene size.
I would like to set my viewport to something like 1200:800 as My Default size.
Can anyone explain to me How to set up DS4.8 so my IRay Textures show up in the working screen?
At the moment I have to do a render to see my IRay Shaders applied.
Thanks
At the top of the viewport, change the draw style to Iray.
this
i have one monitor just for the viewport
all window panes on the other
